Friends Of Hampson Park

Very sorry to report that, once again, the plants in the triangle at the Lonsdale Road entrance to Hampson Park have been vandalised. Some have disappeared and others have been uprooted and strewn around.
Although we (The Friends of Hampson Park), have received so many compliments as to how lovely the flowers look and how they brighten up the entrance to the park we have decided that we will not be planting the area in future.
So, thank you to everyone who said how much they ...loved them.
And to the vandals who destroyed them, please remember that Nature is the greatest force on our planet.

Pansy Update!!
A few more pansies have been uprooted and strewn about the path 🙁
Sue has gently replanted and watered them - we hope they will survive 🌸
... We are assuming it is youngsters on the way home from school?
Please, please,don't spoil your lovely park. It is due to the Friends of Hampson Park that the park has Green Flag status, a wonderful outdoor gym which was paid for (£10k) from a grant awarded to FoHP, the lovely skatepark and a the free community events held during the Summer.
So come on youngsters - show some respect!!

And so, after just three hours after planting we discover that many of the lovely pansies have been uprooted and spread over the path.
Friends of Hampson Park raised funds to buy the plants and gave up their time to clear the ground and plant them for the benefit of all the community.
Just what is wrong with people? We are so sad.

Some dates for your diary 2018. Saturday 23rd June. Music in the Park. Wednesday 1st August. Teddy Bears Picnic. Wednesday 15th August. Sport In the Park. This is a new event for Children and Adults.More information will be published later.
