Would highly recommend. For a 3star you are treated as if 5 star. This hotel has thought of every thing that you need.

The food is beautiful. Staff can't do enough for you.

Have not one negative. Have stayed in many hotels home and abroad this has to be the best I have had the pleasure to stay in. Would like to thank all the staff and the chefs for making my daughters special day even more special and at such short notice.

Well where do I start, from meeting rachelle 16 weeks ago and booking our wedding, to answering my calls all most daily, until arriving the night before, everything was organised just the way I wanted it, from having drinks and food on the Friday Stu was an absolute star, on the day of the wedding again rachelle was there when I needed her, coming to the room with in seconds of ringing for her, now for the room set up it's was perfect in every way, the staff were so amazing each and every one went above and beyond the meal was unreal, then the night time the dj was brilliant Matt the barman was a super star, but huge thank you to Lesley for sorting night time buffet, but I couldn't leave out Emily who made sure this bride was fed & watered every morning!! You are all super stars and made our weekend perfect and we can't thank you enough mr & Mrs Bell xx xx

We stayed here at the weekend and had our wedding reception here also!



From the minute we got there we loved it, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our rooms were beautiful everything was perfect! We had guests staying with us also in the single rooms, twin rooms, double rooms, Family room & we had the Ailsa suite which was amazing!



We ate in the hotel on the first night and the food was really nice, breakfast was also really nice and some of us had it in our rooms. - great selection even for kids!



Once we got back from the Anvil Hall (day we got married) the staff were so organised and on top on it all and our night ran so smoothly. The food was amazing and our room was set up perfectly!!!



I would like to thank all of the staff for all their help and just for being so nice and helpful everytime myself or any of my guests had any interaction.



I am 100% returning to The Gables Hotel in the future and would recommend it to everyone even if its not to get married and you just want a weekend away its the perfect place!

We stay overnight the hotel was lovely well decorated clean tidy room was big and the bathroom was very clean hairdryer and iron with ironing board in room. We had dinner which was excellent also breakfast excellent good choice in both menus you could have you dinner in the restaurant or for less formal setting in the lonuge/bar would definitely recommend this hotel just a short drive to outlets

We had our wedding at the Gables Hotel in May and I can not recommend it enough. The staff were so friendly and organised our day was perfect. The girls who coordinated guests on the day were amazing thank you so much.

We got married yesterday, and stayed/had our reception at The Gables. We were a small group, and had an intimate reception in the Dovetail suite, with access to a private bar. We received excellent service, both before and during our stay. The honeymoon suite was lovely, and was a spatious room to get ready in, with the mobile hairdresser (Emma Ritchie)/make-up artist, who the co-ordinator arranged for us. We had our flowers delivered to our room. The pre-wedding, and wedding day food was delicious, and the breakfast was to a very good standard. The staff/ co-ordinators, were well organised and made you feel at ease. Highly recommend for a wedding, or for a general visit - guest rooms were also to a high standard.

Thank you for a lovely stay the four poster room was amazing and thank you for the complementary bottle of champagne and the fudge compliments to your chef food was delicious and your staff are lovely and welcoming we will be back

Stopped off to break up our journey on return from the Highlands, beautiful hotel in a pleasant and quiet part of town, lovely clean and fresh room, very nice breakfast, all staff were friendly, professional, polite and nothing too much trouble, will definitely use this hotel again.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding (a beautiful ceremony!) and was incredibly impressed by Gables staff. I arrived in the middle of 'Storm Emma'/'the beast from the East' and so I am aware that unfortunately, some staff could not arrive at work. The staff who were able to arrive, however, were outstanding despite the unexpected additional pressure. They were helpful with my queries, my room was great (had a lovely, snowy view from the bedroom window!) and the food was delicious.

Myself and my husband Mark would like to say a huge Thankyou to all the lovely staff at the gables, you have made our wedding and stay here perfect for our wedding. You have all been wonderful throughout we have had an amazing 3 days , Thankyou so much.

I was married 20yrs ago in Gretna on Valentine’s Day and stayed and had my reception in The Gables Hotel. We returned a couple of days before Valentine’s Day this year to renew our wedding vows and we had just as amazing time the 2nd time as we did the 1st time. The hotel the staff and the whole weekend couldn’t not have been better. Thanks to all concerned for looking after us and all my guests.

I had my wedding here on Saint Patrick’s Day, it was a magical day and my husband, children and our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and the chef who cooked our wedding meal, well it was gorgeous and no complaints from the vegan guests either, they were pleased with the choices. Only complaint was from my guests, as their rooms weren’t ready on check in and some paid for early check in but the rooms were fine once sorted. First night we stayed in a four poster bedroom and second night we stayed in the Ailsa Suite, both fantastic rooms, my husband didn’t get to enjoy the Ailsa Suite because of the hecticness of bride and bridesmaids getting ready for the ceremony, so we’d love to come back and stay again, also, I loved the traditional Scottish breakfast!! Thanks for help making our day special 💝

5* all the way for the staff at this Hotel. They went above and beyond to help us with anything we asked for. The food was great and the staff was exceptional! What more could you ask for?! Thought our room was a bit old and tired but the food (both dinner and breakfast) were fantastic! Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. Perfect stop over on our way to the west of Scotland (only 1 mile from Motorway). Had a voucher which made it excellent value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for the night very nice hotel with friendly staff. The 2 young girls that worked in the lounge bar were very helpful and kept busy between serving in the bar area taking food orders and also serving the food plus clearing and cleaning tables also same 2 girls taking breakfast orders and serving food too. I must state the food is absolutely amazing we ate in lounge area in the evening and could not fault anything that was served to us must say very generous portions too. Breakfast was just as tasty with good quality ingredients used, my compliments to the chef excellent. Only thing I could complain about is the rooms r very hot and stuffy but will definitely return and most definitely would recommend. Thank you so much to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.

Staff very friendly and helpful reception and waiting/bar staff both great. Room was comfy with everything needed for overnight stay window needs repaired as couldn't open safely bathroom bit dated but overall was ok. When we went for meal at 6-30pm we were informed there was 2 weddings and we might have a wait till they were seen too 2 weddings weren't mentioned when booking as would off chosen elsewhere or another date. Apart from being made to feel that we weren't as important as wedding parties our meals came without too much delay but we picked easy to make stuff as thought be quicker and were hungry. We then went back to room as everywhere was full with wedding guests. Our room was next to door so until after 1.30am we had folk making noise talking outside our door before going there own way. Our relaxing night away from kids to get a good nights sleep didn't go to plan �. Wether we got a deal or paid full price i expected honesty when booking and to be made felt as important as every other guest staying that day !!
