Are you a poet who is interested in increasing onstage confidence? Are you a Gaelic Writer, a writer with an interest in Gaelic, or a writer with beginner's Gaelic? Spoken word poetry collective Loud Poets is collaborating with Glasgow Life to deliver an introductory workshop for those interested in improving their performance skills.
The workshop will be led by spoken word artist and researcher Katie Ailes with poet and Gaelic researcher Robbie MacLeòid, and facilitated by Rona MacDonald of Glasgow Life. It is open to Gaelic and English speakers and will be facilitated bilingually. Participants are welcome to bring along poems (your own or others’) that you would like to practice performing, but we will also have plenty of poems available.
Email GlasgowArtsRSVP@glasgowlife.org.uk to book your place.

Join Rob Heaslip Dance, with Glasgow Life, for a workshop in Gaelic within performance work.
Participants will work with vocalists Alasdair Whyte and Michelle O’Rourke to explore the possibilities for using Gaelic song in the context of contemporary work. Both Alasdair and Michelle will guide participants to find ways in which traditional Gaelic song might be heard, interpreted, abstracted and recontextualised.
This work is drawn from research and development for Heaslip's ‘A... Glimpse of Flesh and Blood’ trilogy; his vocal research was enriched by the repertory of Alasdair Whyte, then refracted through O’Rourke’s contemporary vocal sensibility. The trilogy takes inspiration from the Gaelic communities of Scotland and Ireland
Participants are encouraged to bring songs, come ready to sing, explore, play and to step into the abstract.
This workshop is free to participate in, but there are limited places so advance booking is essential. Email GlasgowArtsRSVP@glasgowlife.org.uk
