Galloway Arms Hotel

Nice food. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff were lovely.

As we were staying at Barnsoul Caravan Park then this was a five minute drive for us. I initially went based on the reviews which say good things about the food and it didn't disappoint. Our first visit was a Thursday for dinner and it was very good, i had Balmoral Ckicken with veg and chips (potatoes if you prefer, your choice) my mrs had Lasagne. All food is freshly prepared and delish. On the Friday we went in again for lunch as we couldn't find anywhere in Dumfries where we could bring in our Labrador. I was trying to find somewhere using my phone and my patience ran out so back along to the Galloway. Again freshly made stake and ale pie and the mrs had a roast beef lunch.Both days it was quite quiet when we were in but i would highly recommend it if you are in the area. Dogs allowed and very friendly staff. Nice pint of Guinness too.

This was recommended to me and i could see why paula was a tremendos cook the staff all excellent the best burger i have ever had all very helpfull i have stayed in a lot more expensive hotels than this and all i could say is they should go and try this place and learn a few lessons, i will be back thank you

Great meals good service.very homely.

Call yesterday for lunch. Very friendly helpful staff. We had beef and ale pie and Cumberland sausage. Very tasty and enjoyable. Would recommend.

Great place first time here having passed it many times lunch was beautiful and olde English cider on tap fantastic me and the missus will be back
