awesome staff, relaxed atmosphere and fun game nights. if i was allowed to just live here, i probably would!

User

Staff staff are autism friendly and their milkshakes are super awesome the banana milkshakes are super awesome always different come back to do social workers someone in the volunteers. ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢ §ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ xxxxxxxxx

Only just found the place and I think I can easily say it's one of the best friends in my life. I'm already sinking every ounce of my time and money. But it's totally worth it the staff are friendly and the people who go are brilliant always happy to help out and everyone can be them self. A good place for all to get a wee bite to eat have a chat play a few games or just to chill.

User

Met with the Owner Susan who invited me around and it was amazing the environment was warm and friendly as were the staff planning a mid-week break on Glasgow so I defiantly plan to visit and play some more when I am over again.

User

I visited a few months ago when in Glasgow, lovely little place very welcoming staff. They weren't put off by the fact I only had a few drinks which for a cafe were reasonably priced. Very varied crowds so there's a little something for everyone! Wouldn't be afraid to go along if I was alone and looking for a game of my trading card game of choice.

User

Great shop, good atmosphere, been coming here for years and still enjoy it :)

User

Great little place. Try the London Fog. Staff are friendly.

User

Great friendly customer services. I was in Glasgow for the day. Thought I would pop in and see what all the magic is about. The atmosphere was great. I bought a soft drink and My favorite M&Ms Pretzel. As a fellow comic book nerd I felt at home . I would love to open up one down south. Hint Hint London or Brigton. I love coffee and comics would love to be part of GR magic. Loving the Podcast as well.

Keep up the great work.

User

Great coffee and the staff had endless patience with my young sons who were over excited about all the great things they could do.

User

Geek Retreat is a pretty great wee gaming cafe that you can easily spend a full day in :) .

The staff are always pleasant, prices are reasonable and I can't complain about the food lol.

...................................... ...

I do think GR could definitely benefit from increasing its range of dry goods. There looks to be a bit of space that could be put to better use.

Will add to this later when I get a bit more time.

User

Fantastic little place. Great prices and has all the stock I was looking for. Staff are amazing and very helpful people. Made my morning a blast!!

User

My first time visit today and I was amazed the customer service was really good I felt really welcome when I came into the store as I am not from Glasgow I was only passing through. The Staff offered to introduce me to different groups within the caffe which was also very kind of them.

The one thing I was sad about is that I couldn't eat my food within the area. But I did ask if they had any food with my dietary needs but they didn't but they did double check for me as well.

So 4 stars well done!

User

Gr8 staff very helpful & welcoming. Very knowledgeable about what they do & what events & games that they play in store. I hope to be back & play a few games with others that play magic

User

Been going down here since I moved to Glasgow, I love the atmosphere but really, it's more than 90% players of Magic: The Gathering and honestly there's barely any Yu-Gi-Oh! Players in the place unless there's a tournament on. The food, while microwaved, tastes nice, (which let's be honest, is the important part.) I will however make the comment that the pricing of the food is bordering on extortionate, especially for cans of soft drinks, most cafûˋs are cheaper than in here. Great selection of consoles from old to new, staff are friendly. On busy days I will mention that service can be VERY slow, and the place feels understaffed at the weekends because of the slow service. I tend to visit more through the week where it's less crowded though.

I will say that there needs to be more themed days, and less of a focus on Magic: The Gathering, because seriously it might as well just be called 'Magic Retreat'. You have the consoles to have gaming themed days, not to mention there's other card games. And actually, why not every so often have days geared towards players of Pen and Paper RPGs, D&D, Warhammer... that sort of stuff because really it's daily MTG tournaments and it REALLY puts me off. Make an effort to attract in more than 1 area of the geek community, you're one of 2 places in the city centre that caters to the geek community of Glasgow. Act like it.

Yes, I changed my review... mostly because I have noticed more things since I started frequenting your cafe.

User

Walked in today and was looking at the dice, board games and cardboard boxes Was interested in the boxes and dice for warhammer accessories so that I'd have diffrent boxes and dice from.the other people I play. No one came to talk or nothing I had never played any of the games or knew anything about them. I did see their are set days for diffrent games but this does not help if you don't know who to talk to or approach when you walk I to a place or even be approached by a member of staff and that you cant get near the till for the players that were standing around the place. And no prices or what you need to have for playing a game Over all impression it was not the place for me.

User

Zero light, rubbish food, filled with literal basement dwellers and run by someone who thinks it's their own private kingdom.

User

Used to be a great place to hang out with your mates and talk comics and play games with the daily themes like mlp day and mtg nights but ow it's packed everyday with mtg players all day and spread out in a way that there are sometimes enough seats to sit but not together. The door downstairs is closed even on days when it's warm which leads customers to believe it is closed. The menu may have been updated but the hot dogs and burgers are microwaved and overpriced for that fact.

User

The only experience I have ever had of this place is when I walked in with my friends and I was looking at a comic (to potentially buy) and the guy that works there, took it out my hands, put it back on the shelf and said: 〜have you guys been here before? Let me show you around〝

First and last time I was in that place!!〙

User

The management was just flat out dreadful, I've only been down there about three times, and I've dealt with a lot of nonsense from some of the customers, they looked at me in a disgusted way and thought I was 'abnormal'. The service from the staff were lacking professionalism and the state of the cafûˋ was rather unclean.. And despite how crowded and small the management was, I'm not happy with it. I had to get fresh air to breathe.. I'd rather go to Megabytes cafûˋ, there's more space, the staff are absolutely friendly and you get the best service and delicious food and drinks, also a wide of video game consoles, televisions and arcade machines. If I were in your shoes right now, go to Megabytes.
