Genovia Quartet

This week, Genovia Duo (Victoria and Gillian) had a lovely couple of days teaching kids all about the bassoon and the *magic* of music! ‚ú®‚ú®
We visited four primary schools in West Lothian as part of the West Lothian Council Youth Music Initiative, and delivered workshops with different pieces and activities highlighting the magical, storytelling, sound-painting world of music.
It is always a pleasure to deliver these outreach sessions as part of our work with Live Music Now Sc...otland. We look forward to more Pitch, Pulse and Magic workshops in 2019!

What a lovely afternoon we had at the Big Music for Mini's event today! ūüöľūüéĶ
Victoria and Gillian played twice in Cushion Corner for lots of lovely mini people and their mummies and daddies, performing music by Mozart, Bartok and Boismortier and others. We even had storytime, where we told "The Tale of Lady Hindemith" who fights evil dragons with her magical musical bassoon powers!! ‚ú®ūüé∂ūüĎł
All the Genovia Quartet members were lucky as we were exposed to live music from a young age..., so it was a pleasure to see so many little'uns enjoying our performance today. Perhaps there were some future bassoonies in the crowd?! ūüėģūüéĶ

Hello all!
Well, summer seems to be truly finished here in Bonnie Glasgow....‚ėĒ‚ėĒ However this means it is time for the 18/19 concert season to begin! We love this time of year, there are always lots of great performances to see ūüėä
We are delighted to be returning to Westbourne Music in the beautiful Merchant's House in Glasgow after such a warm reception last season. We will be performing a recital featuring some brand new Genovia specials at 1pm on Wednesday 31st October... pe...rhaps it will be a spooky one? ūüéÉūüé∂
And just a few days before that we will be performing in the beautiful Glasgow Cathedral! Come and hear some classic symphonic repertoire as you haven't heard it before....at 1pm on Friday 26th October ‚õ™ūüé∂ there are free concerts this whole week at lunchtime so don't miss out!!

Still can't believe IDRS2018 is over... *sigh* What an incredible experience it has been!!!ūüéľūüé∂ It seems like it was only yesterday when we paid a wee visit to the beautiful ūüŹĶÔłŹAlhambraūüŹĶÔłŹ We had never been to such magical place before.
