You beat the Beast From The East..

Amazing service- 2 days of delays, expected misery. Reality was impeccable staff, Menzies (TUI 3rd party reps) were all fabulous- Cameron , Scott and Robin, thanks, and Menzies ladies, I apologise, we didn't get your names, but all awesome- well organised, sooo patient with irate customers and worked long past reasonable hours. Carol at the information desk, you are a trooper- despite almost no sleep, so friendly and helpful. Ancillary staff were fabulous too, from security, cleaning staff, all the restaurant staff, everyone chipped in to help. And although not actually part of the airport, thanks to Holiday Inn Express, Lisa at reception in particular, lots of strays on your doorstep, we were looked after- hot drinks, blankets, even managing to find beds for many of us, although there was no obligation to do so. All in all, if you plan to be stranded in an airport, Glasgow is the place to do it!!!!

User

Thankyou to the lovely cleaning lady Mary, who when I asked if there were any pay phones and explaining Id forgotten my phone and needed to try contact my son who was picking me up in Stanstead, without hesitation handed me her own phone to use and sort it out! Our flight to Tenerife on the 26/6/18 was the best experience in any airport we have had the setup for Hidden Disables (Autism)was the best we have come across as traveling with 2 children with Autism is not easy but the staff were fab thank you so much will definitely only be flying from Glasgow in the future

User

I was recently at Glasgow airport and the staff were wonderful. I'm autistic, and the special assistance lanyard service they offer is incredible, for a free service I was very impressed; while I wore the lanyard which marked me as someone who might need extra help, staff were incredibly attentive and really helped make a stressful time go much easier. I had to leave my husband at security since I was travelling alone, and I was very anxious, but I was escorted through priority and treated kindly. The whole place was immaculate too. Thanks for an easy experience!

I dropped my 86 year old dad off this morning. I'd booked him special assistance directly with the airline. As I drove in the car park barrier, a very pleasant young guy directed me to his colleague in the car park. This guy was also extremely helpful, he guided me to a parking spot as close to the door as possible to save my dad walking. I told him I had booked assistance for my dad and that I didn't really know how long I'd be in the airport for. He came into the area where the payment machines are and called the buzzer for assistance, telling me that the special assistance team would come over and take my dad to the terminal, again to save him walking. He does have mobility issues, so this was welcomed. The team were really busy and when that guy checked in on us, he radioed someone to inform them that he was taking my dad over to the terminal himself.

Once at the area for special assistance, the staff could not have been any more helpful, they were full of fun and lots of laughter. They took my dad to check in and off he went. He has just called me to say the team were really helpful, assisting him with his case and getting on and off the plane at East Midlands.

I am a frequent flyer and until today have never known these services existed. This assistance helps people my dads age keep flying with dignity and some independence. We came in contact with quite a few members of staff today and each one along the way was as helpful as the next. Could not fault everyone today. Thank you very much for making this a painless experience, especially since I'd just landed at 2.30am from Corfu and was extremely tired. I didn't get anyone's names, but it was 9am we arrived, went to car park 2 and I left my dad about 10am, he was flying gla to east Midlands. Thanks again to the staff who went beyond to help my dad today.

Home safe and sound after a good holiday, but want to say a big thank you to both Malaga airport and Glasgow Airport for their fantastic assistance on helping us all the way, On both arrivals and departures both were fantastic. Both airports won't get to know this but it took a load of concern off our minds, so thank you. At Glasgow Airport Fabio and Fiona, didn't get to know helpers at malaga.

User

Absolutely fantastic experience at Glasgow Airport today whilst travelling with my 6 year old son who is autistic. The yellow lanyard for Autism was recognised by every member of staff we encountered, and each and every one of them took time to make my son feel welcomed and at ease. Well done Glasgow!! I hope every airport in the UK follows your amazing example

User

As they don't seem to have their own page, this is about Scotland&sea restaurant. Please tell me how you can justify £10 for a side plate with a handful of smoked salmon and a rammekin of scrambled eggs drowning in water? Ridiculous. I know things are more expensive at airports as there is less competition so you can charge whatever you like but that is daylight robbery.

User

Worst customer service ever at the duty free till. Served by a horrible lady who told me my card had not gone through, put it down and walked away. This after serving the person who was standing behind me in the queue first.

User

We had just returned from hiking Ben Nevis, unseasoned trekkers, raising money for the Alzhiemers Society - it was really tough for us and we literally hobbled in to the airport! First time in Scotland and I absolutely fell in love with it's beauty and the people, secretly glad that's where I'm from 3 generations ago. When going through secruity, I was told I couldn't take my hiking poles through. Gatwick let me through with no issues whatsoever. I had dismantled them and the lady said that all six poles had hidden sharp bits inside... If you know walking poles, you know that's ridiculous. I honestly couldn't afford to check them in (which was her only offer) I'd got a budget flight to make the hike itself. She threw them away. My main upset was that she didn't even apologise. I'd just done something big for me, to do something bigger for Alzhiemers. Those poles helped me do it and I'd vouched to do more to raise cash. Her lack of empathy and apology was upsetting and frankly, rude. Really soured the end of an amazing trip. Customer service non-existent. If I'd had more energy I'd have probably spoken to the supervisor but honestly? A simple apology and a bit of empathy would have been more than good enough.

User

Trying to pick someone up tonight in car park 2 and all the pick up lanes are coned off/had people standing in them. Not entirely sure where you're expecting anyone to stop to pick up family/friends. Paid £2 for the ' pleasure' too. It can't be that hard surely? We're not talking rocket science here. Shambles

User

This must be the worse airport ever.

Been through here a few time, recently last week.

Delayed 4 and half hours..... never surprises me.

Come if home after the delay outbound and one border control dealing with a massive load of passengers !!! Not a nice return back to Glasgow.

Even an under developed place like Bulgaria has an airport that runs so much smoother for the traveler.

Think it’s time to avoid this place in future.

User

Just arrived from Faro on flight LS174 ( jet2 )

We were on time but yet again we had to wait until a Ryanair flight left its stand so we could get in to same one

Still we waited for stairs to arrive ( surely they would have been there to allow Ryanair passengers to board ?? )

Once off and in terminal at least for once immigration was quick so here we were thinking collect cases and away

Haha no chance

Flight landed 14.30 Baggage carousel has message to say luggage expected 15.18 !! What the heck is that all about

Finally at 15.12 the first cases appear This airport is an absolute disgrace and I will be avoiding it if at all possible

On our outwRd journey we landed , passed through immigration , collected suitcases , boarded coach and were transferred to our hotel and checked in in under an hour

So it is possible

Lots of disgruntled passengers on our flight

User

I’ve never ever had a problem with snow globes during security check, but it seems like they are pretty controversial there in Glasgow! With a globe of approximately 5cm round ball, the manager said it is impossible for me to take it home because „we cannot judge how much liquid is in it”. I’ve travelled with HUNDREDS of snow globes in a carry on all around Europe and nobody has ever even said anything, not to mention taken one from me. Or maybe was this simply a mean act of jealousy that the globe was from beautiful Edinburgh in dreadful Glasgow? :/

User

I passed thru priority security and this took 5 minutes. Unfortunately my bag was chosen for a random search. 20 minutes later it was checked. I understand it is for my security but put the resource in to make it less frustrating for all. I saw about a dozen bags waiting to be checked in one queueLots of people in pink shirts watching the chaos and hopefully sorting it out. It’s not even summer yet!

User

Hey Glasgow Airport/Swissport - sort yourselves out! Flight landed at 00.20 from Fuertaventura with lots of young children and elderly who have been standing around being deafened by the sound of your baggage reclaim belt 1 for well over 40minutes now! No guidance or apologies from any of your staff?!

User

Glasgow Airport, you should be ashamed of yourself. 30 minutes stuck on a plane on the runway because your 2 busses were busy!! 30 minutes stuck in the EU queue because the queuing system favoured the non EU nationals, when finally got to baggage reclaim we had waited so long that our bags weren't on the system any more & yet again the staff didn't have a clue. We were ordered into the queue with children because one member of your staff was unaware that it was only children under 12 years of age that couldn't use the epassport section. Oh & the tanoy wasn't working & your cowardly managers were no where to be seen!! This has become relatively common in this now dirty & broken airport (the escalators were off on the day we departed). We were travelling with 12 year old with autism & I myself had a heart attack and surgery in March. Poor poor poor. The only positive I can say is that one member of staff took the time, energy & effort to try & keep me (& others) informed, she was one lady, well informed & clearly intelligent. We complained, she tried to resolve but more importantly didn't run away from the situation. She came back, assured us that someone from management would be on their way. Hey, no surprise, no management ever showed. I wish I had taken this woman's name as she should be commended for attempting to deal with the ridiculous situation.

So, thank you Glasgow airport for ruining a disabled child's holiday!! You should be ashamed.

Dropped off my son and husband early this morning and felt like i was on an episode of Mastermind. Not sure if it was because it 5.30am but found it so complicated trying to make sure i was in the right lane, how long it was going to take me and what height my vehicle was too many decisions to be made at that time in the morning. Then when i got to the barrier i then realised it didn’t take notes for the £2 that it cost me to pap them out the car which took about a minute. Sat with the hazard’s on in a total panic thinking hopefully someone would come and help eh naw. Had to phone my husband who then ran out 5 minuets later with the coins. Thankfully i made one easy decision that morning and changed out of my pj’s before i left the house so got out the car, ran over to the fence got the coins and bobs your uncle was on my way. Next time i come to the airport i will be better prepared but god help any tourist as thick as me. Gone are the days when i used to come to the airport as a child get some dinner and watch for the planes. Now it’s a military operation.

Arrived in Glasgow Airport last night on KL1481 from Amsterdam. Yet again, Glasgow Airport weren't prepared for the incoming flight and there was no walkway to connect us to the terminal. The flight's on the timetable, it was showing on the website but you still couldn't get yourselves in gear to make sure that the walkway was ready. That's the 4th time this has happened to me over the last two years. It's about time you sorted out your operational side and spent less time promoting your 'duty free shopping'.

Worst customer service ever at the duty free till. Served by a horrible lady who told me my card had not gone through, put it down and walked away. This after serving the person who was standing behind me in the queue first.

Shambles

I’ve never ever had a problem with snow globes during security check, but it seems like they are pretty controversial there in Glasgow! With a globe of approximately 5cm round ball, the manager said it is impossible for me to take it home because „we cannot judge how much liquid is in it”. I’ve travelled with HUNDREDS of snow globes in a carry on all around Europe and nobody has ever even said anything, not to mention taken one from me. Or maybe was this simply a mean act of jealousy that the globe was from beautiful Edinburgh in dreadful Glasgow? :/
