Glasgow Fitness Training is run by fitness professionals, who are dedicated to your health and wellbeing. .
We provide a wellness service that focuses on fitness training from a physiological, psychological and nutritional point of view. Working in group training or individual training in order to achieve each client’s aims and deliver their dreams and goals. We listen to the needs of each client and deliver on a promise to make each individual fitter, stronger, balanced and most importantly happier.

It’s definitely about clothes size when looking in the mirror.
Muscle is lean/small in mass but heavy in weight. Lean muscle makes the body balanced and you are lean/small which helps clothes fit. Even though your mind will play tricks on you when you jump on the scales. This is because ”everyone needs to find out what the weight they are when their body is Lean/small with muscle”.
We all know what weight we are when we put on body fat and that's why our minds SCREAMS DANGER at us when we see the weight going on due to muscle growth
DO NOT fall into this trap,
MUSCLE burns calories when at rest, this is called metabolic activity.
MUSCLE protects your bone density which staves off degenerative disorders such as osteoporosis.
MUSCLE increases energy by increasing the amount and size of mitochondria. These are within every muscle cell and the more muscle cells the better as this will increase the mitochondrial activity. Resulting in better energy levels throughout the day. This is because the calories getting burned will help stop the body from storing excess calories that normally gets stored as fat. INSTEAD, THE CALORIES GET USED FOR ENERGY
FAT is storage for the calories that the body doesn't use from overeating OR lack of mitochondrial activity
FAT is not metabolic and does not burn calories.
FAT is essential to maintain good health as this is the place your body will store essential minerals that boost the immune system. The levels of fat storage recommended varying between men and women.
MEN = 12-18% WOMEN = 18-25%
There is one other pitfall that people experience and that is not understanding that in order to increase muscle. You need to eat more Protein which means more food. Which then means your mind SCREAMS DANGER once again.

These guys have gone out their way to train us for our massive 'Tour for Tommy' endurance event for the second time. Currently putting training sessions on 6 times a week for the team to take part in! Couldn't do this without them. Love every session I go to, always different but always just as tough as the one before! Fitness levels definitely starting to increase. Makes training enjoyable!

Started boot camp 6 weeks ago and can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever done. Seeing great results physically and mentally. Craig really pushes you to your limits and Giving up isn't an option! Over weight, unfit and rather inflexible, that was me before starting with Craig at Glasgow fitness training. Now lost 8kg, lost centimetres round waist and hips, back running and climbing hills. Not only does he provide personal training, he covers nutrition and the physiology of leading a healthier lifestyle. The boots camps he runs are exceptional, hard work, results driven but very enjoyable. Can’t recommend him high enough.

I started GFT four weeks ago hoping I'd get a bit fitter, would have the will power to go regularly and wouldn't hate it too much. Ha! I have been amazed at how quickly I'm improving, I haven't missed a session and it's a laugh too! The guys are great, the motivation is excellent and everyone is friendly. What more can I say. I just spent a week at boot camp with Craig. I cannot praise this guy highly enough. I have not worked as hard, or pushed myself so much. Craig certainly knows his stuff. He was so motivational. He helped me with my form and by the end of the week doing full press ups. I don't think I have met such an intuitive instructor. I cannot wait to do 6 week boot camp. I joined boot camp to regain my fitness levels after having my second child and recovering from a c-section. Craig and Robert have helped me greatly to build up my confidence and fitness levels. I have managed to lose 16 inches since training with these guys over 12 weeks. I now feel much fitter and have lots more energy. Highly recommended!!

Gtf is amazing started bootcamps over a year ago now! Without a doubt was the best results I ever had! After years off going to the gym and trying different diets and not getting enyware I was giving up! Then I done my first 6week bootcamp and everything changed!! push you to your limits and also make you understand all about your diet! Witch diet is key!!! They give u so much help and support through everything!! I have even taken up powerlifting with Craig, never though I would be so interested in weightlifting but a year down the line I am now thinking off powerlifting competitions couldn't be happier with ware I am with my fitness and still growing

Glasgow Fitness Training and more importantly Craig Barnes has been my personal trainer for almost half a decade, when I first decided to try a personal trainer I was unsure if it would help me, however after suffering various back and joint issues since my early 20’s it had become difficult to exercise properly without pain.



5 years later I can say that Glasgow Fitness Training has been one of the best decisions to improve many aspects of my life, not only on a physical level but also on a mental and general wellbeing of my health.



Craig Barnes has worked closely with me over the past 5 years to help me with my physical issues which can result in me spending weeks/ months in pain, along with doctors and physiotherapists Craig has certainly helped make difficult periods in my health a lot easier.



I would highly recommend Glasgow Fitness Training to anyone who is looking to at least try and improve their physical health, however do not expect miracles as the work does need to be done by you! However Craig is absolutely dedicated to his clients, extremely informative and eager to help anyone who is looking for help.

Craig is a motivational instructor who guarantees results. The exercise is challenging but well worth it. He will monitor your diet & provide advice to suit your lifestyle in conjunction with his fat burning exercise to speed up the weight loss process. Can't thank these guys enough for everything they've done for me through the years. Already had a good degree of fitness when I first got involved with gft but after going along to some spin and circuit classes both Craig and Robert did I soon realised I had never been worked so hard in my life and they were just the guys to take me to the next level. From here I became a regular at the boot camps and continued to attend any other classes or events they put on. During this period from everything I learned from them gave me the direction in my training I was lacking, the physique I always wanted and the desire to constantly look to better myself. There enthusiasm and drive rubbed off on me so much it motivated me to become a personal trainer myself and the support and help I received from both Robert and Craig while doing my levels 2 and 3 as well as everything I have learned off both at boot camp and around the gym has given me a massive head start over most new to the industry and without them helping develop my progress I would never have reached the level I have so big thanks to both of you lads and look forward to making an appearance at boot camp sometime soon hopefully. Glasgow Fitness Training and more importantly Craig Barnes has been my personal trainer for almost half a decade, when I first decided to try a personal trainer I was unsure if it would help me, however after suffering various back and joint issues since my early 20’s it had become difficult to exercise properly without pain.



5 years later I can say that Glasgow Fitness Training has been one of the best decisions to improve many aspects of my life, not only on a physical level but also on a mental and general wellbeing of my health.



Craig Barnes has worked closely with me over the past 5 years to help me with my physical issues which can result in me spending weeks/ months in pain, along with doctors and physiotherapists Craig has certainly helped make difficult periods in my health a lot easier.



I would highly recommend Glasgow Fitness Training to anyone who is looking to at least try and improve their physical health, however do not expect miracles as the work does need to be done by you! However Craig is absolutely dedicated to his clients, extremely informative and eager to help anyone who is looking for help.

First time trying their boot camp and my god, it hurt. Day 1's pain lasted all week, which I wasn't expecting. Second week in and its hard but I look forward to it. Helps so much having Craig & Robert keep a watchful eye over everyone. Thanks guys

Fantastic. Set up to accommodate all standards. Motivational, encouraging and supportive. Have a unique way of making sweating, pain and hard work addictive and enjoyable. Much better than just having a gym membership.

Doing a 3 day charity event in May and i could not do it without Crag and Robert at GFT! Can honestly say i'm the fittest i've ever been thanks to them, seeing results and feeling fit! will definitely keep going even after my charity event, would recommend them to anyone who wantsto make positive changes and get fit!

Craig is a motivational instructor who guarantees results. The exercise is challenging but well worth it. He will monitor your diet & provide advice to suit your lifestyle in conjunction with his fat burning exercise to speed up the weight loss process. He also has a great sense of humour that is sure to brighten your day even at a 6am bootcamp!Money well invested in my opinion for long term benefit.

Can't thank these guys enough for everything they've done for me through the years. Already had a good degree of fitness when I first got involved with gft but after going along to some spin and circuit classes both Craig and Robert did I soon realised I had never been worked so hard in my life and they were just the guys to take me to the next level. From here I became a regular at the boot camps and continued to attend any other classes or events they put on. During this period from everything I learned from them gave me the direction in my training I was lacking, the physique I always wanted and the desire to constantly look to better myself. There enthusiasm and drive rubbed off on me so much it motivated me to become a personal trainer myself and the support and help I received from both Robert and Craig while doing my levels 2 and 3 as well as everything I have learned off both at boot camp and around the gym has given me a massive head start over most new to the industry and without them helping develop my progress I would never have reached the level I have so big thanks to both of you lads and look forward to making an appearance at boot camp sometime soon hopefully. And to anyone achieve life changing results and no matter your fitness goals or level I can't recommend these guys enough
