About Glasgow Tigers Speedway

Flat out, bar banging, dirt filling, family thrilling Friday Nights all Summer long.

Glasgow Tigers Speedway Description

Glasgow Tigers is the West of Scotland’s only professional speedway team and is one of only a handful of motorsport venues in Scotland.

We compete in British Speedway’s Championship League, which consists of ten teams. The nine other clubs are the Berwick Bandits, Edinburgh Monarchs, Ipswich Witches, Newcastle Diamonds, Peterborough Panthers, Redcar Bears, Scunthorpe Scorpions, Sheffield Tigers and Workington Comets

The Tigers race at the recently redeveloped Peugeot Ashfield Stadium, a superb venue for live motorsport in the North of Glasgow. The club has been crowned Premier League champions on three occasions, most recently in 2011 and secured the KO Cup in 2016 our seventieth anniversary year.

The Tigers season runs from March until October. There are 18 home matches and 18 away matches during the regular season which runs until the end of September. The Tigers also compete in the Knockout Cup and depending on league position the end of season playoffs.

Our owners Gerry and Michael Facenna bought the Tigers in 2015 and are committed to building a club that will become an important part of the local community.

What a fab day. First time coming thanks to Glasgow Tigers for free tickets. Family of four today with an 8 year old boy and 3 year old girl who where in awe with the noise, the dust, the bikes and the whole atmosphere. Fantastic. Already looking into when we can next come along....

User

Went to see the Tigers a few weeks ago for the first time and can now say my family are hooked. What a fantastic family night out. It is full of thrills and excitement. So child friendly and really helpful supporters. We havent missed a meeting since and are all getting season tickets next year. Cant recommend it highly enough.

User

Went last Friday. Was a bit nervous at first with the noise of the bikes and the riders going round the corners! After heat 3, I was well into it! The hospitality from David was fantastic. Loved it, will definitely be back!x

User

Well this will be my second time going to watch the tigers, had an amazing time last time, we'll and truly hooked. Looking forward to tonight can't wait

User

We went for the first time last night and the whole family loved it! We managed to get to stand at the start/finish line n my youngest daughter thought it was hilarious to get hit wit the mud. We will definetly be back x

User

Wanted to share our first ever experience of Speadway. I took my 6 year old daughter last night kind of expecting her to want to leave after 10 minutes as she is really very girly. We LOVED it. Can't wait to come back. We sat next to a lovely couple who were massive tiger fans. They taught us some of the rules and helped us understand what was happening!! We were cheering along with the crowd and the Tigers got three 5's ( which I understand is a great thing) when we were there. Can't wait to come back!!!! We were truly made to feel at home by the life long fans. Thank you for a great night. We will be back really soon.

User

Myself my son and my brother attended the stadium last night for the first time and WOW !! I can't believe I'm so local and have never been ! It was amazing from start to finish ! Gutted I didn't get the guys name who stood with us and took us onto the pitch to watch a race - you were a fantastic host and a credit to the facility ! We will definitely be back

User

My wife and I returned to the home of the Tigers after a long break away from the stadium.

Having so many hobbies and interests means that we are unable to visit on a more regular basis.

Being back in amongst the action yesterday was a reminder of why we love the speedway. It's fun, noisy, entertaining and family friendly.

Well worth a visit, but be careful where you spectate from. If your like us and enjoy being close to the action, then the start finish line is the place to be. But get there early as it's a popular spot.

O and watch out for grit missiles being flicked from the bikers rear wheels.

Fantastic. The Tigers won yesterday. Yippee.....

User

First time ever at a speedway night and loved it. Great place and surprised to see so many kids there, the entertainment for the kids was great.

As soon as we walked in it was a wow, don't know if I've got the right name but the "tigers den" is smashing place for a refreshment. Facilities all around and toilets easily found, will definitely be back in the very near future.

User

First meeting of the season and boy am I impressed already - team looks great, some cracking racing on the new track, and the best example of team riding I've seen in a long time with Thomas and Vissing. Excited for the season ahead. If you've not been here yet get yourself along for a great night!

An amazing family friendly arena. Reasonably priced and always a good show and atmosphere. Will definitely visit again in the future. Suitable for all ages and disabled friendly to. If you have an opportunity to visit and watch and enjoy the racing, you will not be disappointed.

User

Absolutely brilliant meeting on Saturday evening. This was the 1st time since the 1971 and 1972 seasons I had been and it brought back some happy memories when it was based at Hampden Park. Still remember the names of the team then like Ivan Mauger, Charlie Monk, the Templeton brothers Willie and Dougie, Jim McMillan, and Bobby Beaton to name a few. Will definitely be back to watch. It was made better by the fact the won with a deflated team due to injuries aided by some guest riders.

Thank you for a great night.
