Ahead of the US mid-term elections on 6th November, Glasgow University Politics Society, in partnership with the Stevenson Trust for Citizenship, have organised a guest lecture with Professor Christopher Carman.
Prof. Carman teaches American Politics at the university and specialises in elections, political representation and public opinion. His lecture will discuss the seats up for grabs, the relevance of a wide variety of issues on voting behaviour and the impact that diffe...rent results could have on the Trump presidency. This will be followed by a Q&A.
After the lecture there will be a drinks reception which members are welcome to attend - membership will also be available on the night for just £3!
We hope to see you there! GUPS x

It's Election Night at GUPS!
Fancy getting more involved in your Politics Society?
On Thursday the 4th of October, we will be electing our First Year Representative to the board. If you would like to be more involved in the society then come along to Innis & Gunn Beer Kitchen on Ashton Lane at 7:30 to run for the position!
... The main role of the First Year Rep is to spread the word about the society among your peers and to get your fellow freshers involved with us. Don't worry all you have to do is give us a quick, informal introduction and tell us why you want the position. This is a great way of getting more involved with GUPS, as well as getting to know other students. The length of term for Representatives runs concurrently with the academic year.
If you have any questions about the position then don't hesitate to email us at admin@gupolitics.org or send us a message on Facebook.
We hope lots of you will want to run for the position, but if you are not in first year or if it's just not for you then come along anyway for some good fun and to cast your vote!
