Glasgow University Women'S Rugby Football Club Description
As one of the University of Glasgow's friendliest teams since 1987, GUWRFC welcomes all new players regardless of fitness levels or previous experience. We are a hugely social club with a penchant for fancy dress - we work hard AND play hard!
Our recent successes have included winning the BUCS Scottish 1A league after an undefeated season for 2015 /16, BT Bowl winners 2015 /16, and BT National Division 2 champions for the season 2014 /15 which promoted us to Division 1 the following season.
With student rugby trophies in the cabinet, and several international players as club alumni, we can be part of developing your skills, improving your fitness and introducing you to a whole new bunch of pals, so come along and see what we're about.
Training:
We train at Garscube Sports Complex twice a week: Mondays 7. 30-9pm on grass and Fridays 6-7. 30pm on Astroturf. If you would like to travel there with us, we have a minibus which leaves from the Glasgow University Union at 6. 45pm (on Mondays) and at 5pm (on Fridays). Please be on time!
Matches:
We compete in 2 leagues: BUCS Scottish 1A (matches on Wednesdays) and BT National Division 1 (matches on Sundays).
What to bring:
Clothes that are not too dear to you, trainers and water.
If you have a gum shield and rugby /football boots (for Mondays), bring them as well.
