Gleddoch - Hotel, Spa & Golf

It was amazing, rooms were perfect, food was lush, beautiful hotel with beautiful views. Well worth it (couples night)

Spa day with my wife with treatments in the treatment rooms. Spa pool is nice shape size to swim in also quite quite during midweek when we attended. Staff were very attentive explaining and pointing out heated stone sun loungers, sauna ,steam rooms indoor hot tub and uncovering outside hot tub. Afternoon tea in the restaurant was nice would have liked to have seen clotted cream with scones rather than whipped cream. Restaurant and spa has lovely views across the Scottish hills and estuary. Massage was very relaxing in well decorated and comfortable surroundings Would use the spa again as it was very quiet and not overbusy like others we have been too.

It's been a while since we've been at Gleddoch, the layout has changed considerably, the staff are nice, attentive and there when you need them. Now because we were attending a wedding the service, food, weren't up to par (sorry about the pun) ! For whatever reason after the ceremony, which was excellent, when we went to the 'golf' part of the hotel where the reception was to be held, it faltered. The service was shocking, the meal was bland, and afterwards when the nights entertainment began, I believed we would move to a different room. The room we had eaten in was a bit tight', and that's me being nice about it. The room we felt, was too small for the number of guests. Yes there was a nice terraced area, but we weren't eating outside. There was also an area at the bar where you could sit, but that meant leaving the main room. However, we had the meal, speeches etc, then left for the hotel to turn the room round for the evenings entertainment. Unfortunately, because there were more guests arriving the room did not lend itself to a comfortable night. The DJ set up in the middle of the room , therefore when people went to the bar from their table, they had to return to their seats over the dance floor and try to avoid people dancing while juggling glasses and bottles. Not, shall we say, "ideal" ! The extra guests meant that the tables were positioned in such a way that it was virtually impossible to navigate the room easily. The terraced area I mentioned earlier, we'll during the day it affords wonderful views over the water and surrounding area, but in the evening, when the light fades there is no external lighting and has the potential of being a bit dangerous. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are fabulous, the spa is great, in fact everything else was wonderful it just seems that they let themselves down with positioning of the bridal party.
Please don't take this as a criticism of the hotel, they did a splendid job on the day bit, as my old English teacher used to say "Could do better"!! Looking forward to returning some time soon .......

Absolutely beautiful hotel, recently been refurbished and what a great job it has been! The views are stunning!! Food in the bar was lovely. Well worth a visit. I will be back to use the spa soon!!

Attended my friends wedding on Saturday and was not impressed; the staff turn around for the function suite was so slow the full wedding party was left standing in the corridor for at least 40 minutes, the 5 members of staff working the wedding were walking about looking lost and did not know what they were doing. When we complained the staff were so cheeky, unprofessional and did not want to know. Bar staff were nice and as helpful as can be. Several guests approached the reception to complain to the manager when a young female (Pamela I think her name was) would not allow the manager to speak to us without butting in with her opinion. Extremely bad attitude problem. Definitely would not recommend at all worst stay ever !

Just in the middle of being renovated to a very high standard. Nice and secluded although only 10 mins from breahead an 15mins to glasgow city centre. Very nice spa.

Overnight stay for 2 - Great staff that know the true value of customer service. Evening meal was out of this world. Stunning hotel and beautiful scenery so definitely a place to revisit.
