great getaway! Lovely meal and friendly staff.

This is a fantastic hotel set in stunning surroundings.

User

Went up to Glen Clova to enquire about holding our wedding and cannot thank the staff enough especially David who took 3 hours out of his day (we were an hour and half early for our appointment) to show us around the venue and Kirk, and to go over all our questions. At no point did we feel we were asking stupied questions or he was in a rush to get rid of us and made it very clear he would accommodate all of our requests if possible. The rest of the staff were chatty and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Lesley has also been great sending us quotes and changing appointments to suit us. Lunch was also amazing and we cannot wait to get back up to sample some more of the new menu.

I've worked in hospitality before and I know how hard it is to take time out of your day to show people about and to answer silly questions and keep a smile on your face , but cannot fault any of the customer service we were shown.

We had our wedding at the beautiful Glen Clova on 28.04.18 and it was perfect, more perfect than we could ever have imagined. Our guests have commented on how spectacular the location is and that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The staff couldn't do enough for us and they went above and beyond our expectations all weekend. Even the beds are incredibly comfy - we will be back soon for a wee visit thats for sure. Wish we could do it all again - Glen Clova will forever be in our hearts. Thank you so so much for giving us such lovely memories.

User

The perfect location for a peaceful break. The 2-bedroom lodge (Corrie lodge) that we were in was spotless and had everything needed. It included its own sauna and hot tub, two large ensuite shower rooms and ample space. They even supplied tea, coffee, and milk!! We had one meal in the hotel, and it was really good. Be aware that there is no mobile signal or broadband in the lodges, but the hotel has broadband access within it. This was actually perfect for us allowing us a total escape from the pressures of life!! Don't miss out on the walk up to Loch Brandy which is very well worth taking. We can thourghly recommend this hotel and lodges and will definitely be back!!

User

Stayed here Monday to Friday for my husbands 40th, we had the clova doll lodge. Got to say was truly amazing, soon as we walked in he lodge we loved it. They supply more or less everything you need to start your holiday. The hot tub and sauna were really good. The views were just out of this world. We will defo be back just wish we had booked for the week instead of 4 nights. No phone signal which didn't bother me in slightest. We ate at the hotel one night and can fault it either, food was really good and we got one child meal between our 2 children as they don't eat a lot and the waiter had said to chef and they split it into 2 plates which not a lot of places would do for you either. Only thing a will say is they could serve breakfast a bit later as we went to have breakfast after we checked out at 10 but was already finished.

User

Only used the restaurant.

We arrived having pre warned of a vegan group member. He was offered two options and the chickpea morrocan curry was amazing, one of the best he's tasted. The pheasant game pie was incredible and the macaroni cheese was just as good.

Prices were not as high as could be expected (4 people, main course + non alcoholic drink each around £50) and the atmosphere was relaxed with good service.

Excellent overall, amazing accommodation of an order that is not on the menu.

User

Last Friday saw neither our first nor our last visit to this lovely place. Great setting, scenery and atmosphere. Welcomed and quickly served by friendly staff who brought us very tasty, freshly prepared and locally sourced food. Looked round the recently refurbished facilities, including the newly converted steadings rooms, with then thoughts of spending a relaxing weekend with maybe even a day's fishing at the well stocked private loch. We will be back.

User

Just spent the weekend in one of the big lodges for my surprise 50th birthday with family. Incredible views, spotlessly clean, well equipped comfortable and warm lodge. Hot tub and sauna was fantastic. The roaring of the stags in the evening was a treat. You made an old gamekeepers daughter very happy!!!

User

Its just a pity we only stayed one night, such a perfect location for a hotel, the estate is well looked after!

Evening meal was lovely, well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Staff were very friendly and looked after us well.

Breakfast in the morning was equally as good. Hopefully we will get to return sometime in the future!!

User

Had the most splendid mid week break in one of the lodges last week - made even better by wall to wall sunshine . The lodge was wonderfully comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was such a bonus and so easy to use whenever we fancied it. Lots of wildlife around and amazing birds. Staff super helpful as ever! A wonderful break in every way - even from WiFi!! Go if you can!

User

Cannot rate glen Clova highly enough for the fantastic service they provided for my wedding in May. From start to finish everything was amazing. The staff there are brilliant at their jobs and nothing was too much hassle. Lesley and David provided excellent service throughout the planning process and on the day everything was taken care of so all I had to do was turn up. We stayed in one of the big lodges which was absolutely beautiful. myself, my now husband, children, family and friends had the best day/weekend ever.

User

A year ago my husband and I were married in the Glen Clova Hotel, the service and the food were fantastic. The lodge we stayed in was fantastic. So, for our first anniversary we booked a few days in the hotel to celebrate. Everything was perfect, thank you again to the staff, we had a wonderful stay.

User

2nd time staying here and did not disappoint. We stayed in the Cameron lodge which was absolutely perfect. Sauna and hot tub are exactly what you need to relax.

I hope the next people look after Philip the pheasant.

User

Just home after a week at Glen Clova, stunning. Scottish weather was more than kind to us temperatures peaked at low 30s. Angus Lodge was perfect with sauna and hot tub. Totally catered for our needs. Family came to visit and stay. Grandsons were in their element with all the wildlife. Hotel provides great food and an opportunity to meet visitors from all over the world. No internet or wifi in cabins which suited us fine. A few external maintenance issues need to be resolved. Already booked for next year and waterproof clothing looked out just in case.

User

Had a pre birthday afternoon tea. Lots of cake and sandwiches and plenty top up of tea. The sandwiches were well filled but my only criticism is that the bread was starting to dry out at the edges. The sandwiches had possibly been left exposed waiting on our arrival. That said I would definitely go back

User

Enjoyed my stay very much. Food was excellent. I'd have given 5* but both lagers were off the menu, not a huge problem as the Guinness was fine. I do prefer sitting in the bar area as its more atmospheric and it can get quite busy, plenty room next door but not as 'pub like'.

User

Just back from a weekend break at Glen Clova. The lodges are stunning specially the outside hot tub. The negative was the food at the hotel, where the service was slow, not at all flexible to cater for food intolerances/allergies which only leaves 2 options on the menu for dairy intolerance people. And even within those two options there was some sort of dairy contamination as my partner had a reaction to the meal... Obviously we had to rearrange our plans as we were hoping to be able to have our meals at the hotel during our stay. So we had to drive to Kirriemuir and stock up on food to cook in the lodge...

User

An absolutely stunning location and an impressive Hotel. We had a bit of lunch which was enjoyable. Our dogs were made welcome and the staff were helpful.

User

Fantastic setting, really five star accommodation the lodges has been finished to a high end spec , stunning views, we got engaged this weekend and had planned on a wedding venue... It's the only place iv ever wanted since a young girl

Well that's very much off the list now, the staff with regards to waitressing and food Alergies left a lot to be desired

There were two options on the menu for myself due to a dairy Alergy, and no one was prepared to go the extra mile ( change mash for chips etc) to make something I could have....bloody good job I'm not also a vegetarian or there would have been no options, I ended up having a reaction to my meal anyway although only minor still not pleasing

Took a couple of hours out of our already short three day break to drive into Kirriemuir and fetch supplies so it didn't happen again... Very disappointed I'd looked forward to being served and not cooking... It was afterall supposed to be our special weekend

It's such a shame really letting your establishment down not to mention it's customers
