A great S2 STEM Challenge completed today - congratulations to Logan’s team, who were the winners!
We are looking forward to seeing all our students this morning especially our very smartly dressed 3 rd year students who should be coming to school Interview ready. This morning they will be interviewed for a job the have applied and prepared for. This will be the final event in what has been one of our most varied and successful “week of work”. After the interviews they will be having refreshments and cake supplied by COBBS in our pop up cafe. This will complete their week which should have enabled them to make pathway choices towards a possible career. Good luck interviewees 🤗🤗🤗🤗🍰
Climate Change Strikes
The latest advice from the Authority includes the following information to parents regarding any imminent or future Climate Change Strike:
• If young people under the age of 16 receive prior parental permission to participate in any strike, then this can be recorded as an authorised absence. Please note that it must be the parents who inform the school of this. Otherwise, absences should be recorded as unauthorised.
... • For young people who are 16 or over, they can make the decision to strike on an independent basis, however they must inform the school in advance of the day of organised action. If they fail to do so, then their absences should be recorded as unauthorised.
If your child is absent from school, without prior communication, we will endevour to communicate this to you as soon as possible by email. However, as advised by the Authority, parents/carers are responsible for their child/young person during the absence from school and for their journeys to/from school if pupils are absent for part of the school day.
