Redevelopment proposals for Govan's graving docks

Govan Graving Docks Pre Application Consultation Description

Glasgow-based developer, New City Vision, intends to apply for planning permission later in 2017 for mixed use residential, commercial and heritage-related development with associated heritage conservation works, public realm improvements and associated access, flood prevention, engineering, landscaping and other works at Govan's graving docks.

As well as new development, the proposals would involve the conservation of the historic docks with public access and a heritage centre.

This Facebook page has been set up by the developer to share information about the proposals before submission of the planning application: "Pre Application Consultation" as it is officially known.

We will be consulting with the local community between January and March. This page will be regularly updated with details. Please feel free to comment or get in touch.

The planning application will not be submitted before April 2017.

New City Vision's planning application has now been “validated” by Glasgow City Council.
This means that you can see the planning application documents online at the City Council’s website:
publicaccess.glasgow.gov.uk/online-applic ations/
... In the dialogue box at the bottom of that page, simply enter reference number 17/02948/DC and you will be able to access all the drawings and documents.
Now that the planning application has been validated, you will also be able to write or email the Council with your comments about the proposals - whether you are supportive, have concerns, or have questions. You can do that via the Council webpage.
Please note that you should write direct to the Council if you wish them to take you comments into account when they assess the planning application.
This is likely to be the last update on this Facebook site before it is archived. You can keep up-to-date progress on the planning application at a new website that has been set up for the proposal: gravingdocks.com
Thank you for your interest.

We're pleased to announce that the planning-in-principle application for the graving docks was submitted to the City Council on Wednesday evening.
It will take a few days for the Council to "register" the application and get all the plans, drawings and other information uploaded to their web portal for online public viewing.
Once the application has been uploaded by the Council, we'll let you know - both on this Facebook page and at the new project website: http://gravingdocks.com

Update: the planning application hasn't been submitted yet, you haven't missed it! Getting every last detail together is complicated. We will let you know when the application is submitted to the City Council.

Quick update: we're just pulling together all the drawings and reports for the planning-in-principle application, which we're now hoping to submit to the Council in mid July.
Once the application has been 'registered' by the Council, we'll post again to explain how you can see the proposals and have your say.

Apologies for the radio silence.
New City Vision and the design team are busy getting everything together for the planning application to be submitted.
The technical work is taking a little longer than we anticipated, so we're now hoping to submit the application to the City Council in late June.
... As explained in our last post, we will be reducing the amount of building between Napier Drive and the basin.
We'll let you know when the planning application is submitted, and we'll also explain how you can see the plans and comment to the City Council.

A quick update….
After the discussions with Napier Drive residents at the last exhibition a fortnight ago, we are busy working out how to redesign the section of the site between Napier Drive and the basin.
We will be reducing the amount of building there.
... Our target is to finalise the plans to submit the planning application in May, by which time we’ll have finished the redesign. There’s a lot of work to do between now and then, like finishing the Environmental Impact Assessment for example.
We’ll let you know when the planning application goes in, so you’ll be able to see the proposals and comment to the Council if you wish.
