About Greater Cambridge Partnership

The Greater Cambridge City Deal is a major opportunity to bring real benefits to the Greater Cambridge area of Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire.

Greater Cambridge Partnership Description

The Greater Cambridge Partnership aims to invest in transport infrastructure to cement the future economic growth of the region. The City Deal will aim to look at the three areas of transport, housing and skills to build on the attractiveness of Greater Cambridge as a place to live, work and visit.

The Greater Cambridge Partnership comprises Cambridgeshire County Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridge City Council, the Local Enterprise Partnership and Cambridge University.

The City Deal will help Greater Cambridge to maintain and grow its status as a prosperous economic area. The Deal will:
• create an infrastructure investment fund
• accelerate the delivery of 33, 000 planned homes
• enable delivery of 1, 000 extra new homes on rural exception sites
• deliver over 400 new Apprenticeships for young people
• provide £1bn of local and national public sector investment, enabling an estimated £4bn of private sector investment in the Greater Cambridge area
• create 45, 000 new jobs
• create a governance arrangement for joint decision making between local councils
