We was married there 16th September and we loved every minute x every guest said how magical the day was x I wish I could go back and do it all again. Just amazing and magical x thankyou



We stayed in the Queensbury Clayton and it was just out of this world. Every minute was great and you made our day special xx

We had our wedding here on the 30th of April it was absolutely fantastic the staff where lovely and couldn‚Äôt do enough the bridal sweet was absolutely amazing and the bar/lounge absolutely beautiful and I will say the cheese cake was just wow!! Just no words ÔŅĹ I‚Äôd love to go back and do it all over again !

We got married here on 18/11/17. Well it was amazing! The staff were lovely, the food was good, the rooms we stayed in were beautiful and our wedding day was actually the best day of my life. We got married in the courtyard which was stunning with 32 guests and I honestly could not fault anything. There was a lady there that cleans, I think her name was Brenda (sorry if not correct) and she was one of the sweetest, nicest person I have ever met! She remembered my three childrens names and always listened to us when we stopped to chat. Great Hotel! Looking forward to seeing it after the refurb.

We got married here 21/4/2018 and from the moment we walked into the bridal suite (Sheridan suite the one with the secret room hidden in the wall) we loved it. The time and thought they had taken with the room from the towels made into a heart looked like kissing swans soft music playing and tea lights burning and champagne made it magical. Although we had problems leading up to the wedding with things getting mixed up the actual day was perfect thanks to the staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Food was very good too. So a big thank you to the lovely staff at Gretna hall hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a magical wedding or just an overnight stay

We got married at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop on 8th June and stayed here the night before as well as the evening of the wedding with members of family and friends. My room the night before the wedding was lovely, very comfortable and very nicely decorated. Some of the rooms on other floors haven’t been refurbished yet but we’re still reasonable and plenty good enough for the amount of time spent in them. The Quensberry honeymoon suite however was out of this world. Absolutely gorgeous I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked in. We all had a meal the night before in the bar and all food was very nice and reasonably priced and the decor of the bar and restaurant area is fantastic. All staff were very friendly and I must say work very hard because the same ones always seemed to be there no matter what time of day or night especially Stuart and India. India was very helpful and set out some table decorations and other bits and pieces for our wedding reception they were exactly as I’d asked she did a great job. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We’ve already booked to come and stay again next year for our first wedding anniversary. I can’t wait to see how good it will look by then with the continued improvements.

We got married at Gretna Hall two weeks ago. As soon as we drove up it was stunning. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly. And our bridal suite, The Queensbury clayton, was stunning so mordern but also keeping with the history of the hotel as well. I love this room.

Our wedding was amazing, the courtyard full of history and beautiful. Everyone on the day was amazing, especially the staff who looked after us at our wedding breakfast. Our wedding breakfast was beautiful and the staff amazing.

Laura and Lyn have been fabulous the past 18 months, dealing with all my emails and problems. All the staff here including cleaners are what make the hotel. Yes some of the rooms are old and are being done up but the staff make up for this while they are awaiting refurb.

We couldn‚Äôt have asked for a better time at Gretna hall for our wedding. The staff were amazing especially Stewart the restaurant manager, the chef Stephen Myers, Sandy the minister and the girls on reception. From start to finish everything was perfect and we are looking forward to coming back for our anniversary. This is the second time we visited. The first was starting our holiday and this one was the return as we go back to Australia. Both times we found that the staff were really friendly and they remembered us. The room was more than we expected and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone.

Thank you for helping us to have the perfect wedding day! The whole day was amazing and we are so glad we got married at Gretna Hall. We were only a small party of 11 and the way you set our table was beautiful, way better than expected. The 3 course meal was lovely (as was the breakfast in the morning) and we really appreciate you letting several of our guests swap their desserts at the last minute. All of the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for letting us upgrade to the Bourbon & Smythe suite too, that made our wedding night even more perfect. ÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹ

Stayed Monday to Wednesday this week, we attended a wedding at THe Blacksmiths. We had an afternoon meal at the hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful

reception staff always greet you with a warm hello, bar and waiting staff go out of their way and we met a lovely member of the housekeeping who took time out to have a otter chat with us. The meal was excellent too. I would defiantly stay again and would highly recommend this hotel.

On behalf of myself and my husband we would like to thank the wedding catering team. We got married on Saturday and our day was perfect the food was amazing and all our guests felt relaxed. Food was outstanding and the staff were excellent. We saw the hotel 6 months ago before but it was redecorated. And what difference it looks great we staying in the Sheridan suite and it was gorgeous. I must say say it is by the best bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. 10/10 defo recommending to our wedding guests.

My wife and I stayed here between Christmas and New Year, whilst we got married at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop. No this hotel hasn’t had the money spent on it like the others who are all owned by the same man and in some places it is tired and needs some TLC. BUT, having visited Smiths, my biggest concern is that Gretna Hall could loose its nostalgic charm and personal touches which Smiths definitely doesn’t have and could be part of any chain brand.

The most incredible part of this hotel is definitely the staff. From Brenda and the rest of the house keeping staff, to reception and the kitchen / waiting workers (especially Mon) nothing is too much trouble for them and they made our stay so very special. They went above and beyond to look after our needs and make my service dog, Milly, very happy. We can’t wait to come back - if only it wasn’t a 5 hour drive, it might be more regular! Thank you

Lovely hotel set in Absolutely beautiful gardens. Staff were very friendly, polite and attentive. Food was well cooked and presented. I would def recommend this hotel for both weddings and just a break. There is a lot to do in surrounding area too and it’s a two minute walk from the train station.

We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back.

I won a competition for a picnic here so we decided to make a day of it and stay over. The picnic was lovely couldn't have been better. The staff here are even nicer and couldn't do enough for everyone . The renevations that are going on in the hotel are looking so good and it doesn't affect your experience. We had dinner in the restaurant all lovely especially the desert it was heavenly. The only small complaint I could have is that the mattress on the bed was far too soft but I'm sure this will be rectified during the rest of the refurbishment. We are getting married here next year and are so excited about the plans for the hotel and would have hesitation in recommending the hotel to anyone.

Arrived at hotel on 20th for our wedding on 21st October, OMG words fail me, I do not know how to describe my day - perfect, excellent, wonderful - these words do not go far enough to describe our day, from the minute I arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel very important and special. Huge thanks to some of the hero's, reception ladies, thank you so much you both were great, Stuart the catering manager - you helped make the day flow wonderfully, my lovely wedding planner - thanks, and the young lad behind the bar for the evening, thank you so much for going above and beyond, you were really appreciated. The venue, the food, the everything was GREAT, I couldn't recommend this hotel enough, cannot wait to visit again next year, which will be our third stay, here's to many more visits to come.

New waiting staff One just didn’t have a clue I said apart from ice cream what can the kids get he said ice cream.one staff member kept complaining she wanted to go home .So clean in lounge and our room. The reception staff went over and above to help. Food first night I waited an hour for starter. My wedding meal was great . New guy behind the bar was inexperienced but got there and was so nice to talk to. We were in old building qc our room was stunning candles lit and swan shape towels. The kids were comfy one of the kids room had old bath and it was chipped. The tiles were as old as hills. The location is perfect beautiful outside too. The toilets were broken and the men had to go to a room to go to toilet. Would recommend but ask for a room in the old side. They are nicer . May return if I am back out that way

Had a lovely overnighter here on a wowcher deal, reception was stunning and check in was smooth. Room was suitable for the purpose but needed upgrading, particularly the bathroom ceiling. However, dinner was just lovely, sweet and sour haggis balls were a revelation, steak and haggis pie was divine and the cheesecake was heaven. Back to the bar for a nightcap or two then a very comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, checkout was a pleasure. Lovely staff, lovely hotel, lovely food. We'll definitely be back!
