Shock horror as Rob Lee from Worlds Apart uses a Dearmond Jetstar Special for one of his solos on their new album instead of one of his 7 (yes SEVEN) Rickenbackers!

User

Good old British musical engineering! Nothing compares.

User

We're not normally as horny as this on a Tuesday morning but some of these tunes from the new Worlds Apart album are really doing it for us!

User

Hello! We're half way through the new album from Aberdeen's favourite sons, Worlds Apart which Rod is producing. Thankfully the good people at, “Rollin’ Over” records have released a single they recorded earlier in the year to keep you going! Get the single from the band here; https://www.facebook.com/worldsapartscotl and/

Please allow me to introduce my shelf. I'm a man of wealth and taste.

Wow! Rock’n’roll’s fairly changed since my day. Got a band flown in for 5 days recording and they were playing dominoes last night after the session finished. Rock’n’roll! Changed days.

Here we go...........

On this day in 1946 was born Marc Bolan. Here he is with his girlfriend, America singer Gloria (Tainted Love) Jones. What a couple!

User

Totally recommend this place, great rooms and good gear always kept very clean and tidy, plus you are always made to feel very welcome.

User

Top class rehearsal facilities, very clean and well maintained. Very reasonably priced and Rod and his team are very flexible and easy to deal with. Would highly recommend!

User

Our band has been using Groove Tunnel for the past few years, it is one of the best rehearsal facilities we've used. It has a good back line and new Mapex drum kits in all the rooms. Rod is very helpful and its easy and quick to book.

Once you get past the pot holed road and the narrow car park entrance, you’re into the Groove Tunnel. I’ve been in some damp, dingy rehearsal rooms over the years with dodgy electrics, not good.

But not here at Groove Tunnel - rooms are spacious, dry, warm and very well equipped. Lots of safe electricity available, extension leads, heaters if needed and all have good equipment. Drums, guitar / bass amps, PA, mics, everything you need- just bring your guitar! If anything isn’t working ( very rarely), Rod or his staff replace it immediately- dodgy mic lead etc? No problem...and the prices are very reasonable. We don’t go anywhere else!!

User

My band uses Groove Tunnel every week, and have done for years. We’re always made very welcome, and the facilities are always spot on. Defo recommend to anyone looking for a practice space or recording studio!

User

My band Mechanical Arms have been jamming there for 8 years the rooms are great good equipment top drum kits. Rod is a good guy. Get your self in for a practice its cheap too

User

Just a quick note to all the muso‘s out there looking for a great facility to rehearse. The Groove Tunnel offers great facilities, good well provisioned rooms, great gear, for us drummers the kits are only months old all having been replaced recently . The team at GT are welcoming, there to help and nothing is too much trouble. Great rooms, great gear, great service, well priced and competitive. Highly recommend

User

It is actually the best rehearsal studio I've used in all my time as a band guitarist. It's spotlessly clean. The equipment is reliably serviceable and in good condition. The amps and drum kits are top quality. The sound proofing is excellent (None of these 'Walk this way' Moments ref: Aerosmith / MC Hammer) and it's consistently a very professional and personable service from someone who clearly knows their subject. Some of my most memorable and fondest band memories are jamming and rehearsing at the Groove Tunnel.

Highly recommended.

I've used the Groove Tunnel in various guises over the years, and it's easily my favourite rehearsal space. It's always clean and the equipment is good, particularly with the recent introduction of some new Mapex kits! The sound in the rooms is good once you master the pa system, and there's even a wee fridge with cold drinks and some chocolate to keep rehearsals energised. Staff are always helpful and friendly, and prices are good. The recording area is equally good, and recently refurbished. Rod is a master of the mixer and managed to pull a great sound out of my dodgy warblings! Highly recommended for any band looking for a warm, safe (no dodgy electrics), and well looked after rehearsal room.

I've been using Groove Tunnel with various bands since 2003 and my current band Blueprint have been regular visitors over the past 5 years. The facilities are great, and the gear is always kept in good condition. Being a drummer, the recent introduction of brand new kits in each room was a welcome part of the recent upgrade that has been carried out throughout the whole establishment. Rod and the staff are always really helpful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable, so if you're looking for a place to rehearse, I'd recommend checking out the Groove Tunnel!

User

I love coming down to Groove Tunnel to record music - the facilities are great, the equipment top-notch, and the resulting recordings sound very professional even if the playing (in my case) doesn't! . It all helps to keep me wanting to come back to Groove Tunnel to record more music!

User

I have been using Groove Tunnel for years with my band. The rooms are great and well equipped and the drums have just recently been replaced with some great sounding Mapex kits. Rod is always on hand to assist if there’s anything you need. This is one of the best rehearsal/recording studios in the Edinburgh/Lothians/Borders area.

User

I booked for one to one Ralph Rolle of Chic, to teach from whilst in Scotland. The studios are superb, excellent reception and waiting facilities, top notch equipment and a wonderful personalised service from Rod the owner. We will definitely use these superb studios again.

Hidden down at the end of a track in Loanhead is the schizophrenic Groove Tunnel Studio and Rehearsal Rooms. By day often the home of dress-up party recording sessions for kids, the facility at night is a serious rehearsal facility and social hub for a myriad of bands of all ages and musical persuasions, some of whom, my own band Montana included, have been coming here for years. Owner Rod Spark runs a tight ship which means rehearsal rooms are clean and warm and the supplied equipment is well-maintained. Rod is usually on hand to help out if something fails or extra gear is needed. It's a tribute to his care and attention to detail that I can't even remember how long ago Montana started using the Groove Tunnel!

User

Hey guys. I'm a Hammond organ fanatic as are most of my friends. I met Rod back in the 90's another man after my own heart. My best mate suggested that we go to Groove Tunnel studios and record a rough couple of tracks. So The Mulhearn and Palazzi brothers collaborate. I had full use of the legendary C3 and Leslie. It's not the first time playing a beautiful C3. But always in awe at its looks and blown out by the thunder such an instrument can create, in the right hands of course. Groove Tunnel studios are a great recording facility, relaxed environment. I would recommend it to anyone who is searching for that lost chord.. What ever style of music I'm sure that you'll be amazed at the experience and finished product. All the best to Rod and team. Stephen Mulhearn. Trashcan Sinatras. Keys. Peace love.

Great rehearsal rooms in a central location, with good quality kit and helpful staff.

I've been rehearsing and recording at The Groove Tunnel for over three with bands of various sizes and Rod and his team have always made us feel welcome and met our requirements, whatever they have been. I'd wholly reccomend the studio's to any musicians currently working in and around Edinburgh.

User

Great place, freshly decorated, clean rooms with good gear that is well maintained. Great staff too, nice lounge area and kitchen. Highly recommended.

Been rehearsing at Groove Tunnel most Tuesdays for 12 years now. Rod and staff are great and can't do enough to help and facilities are always tip top and ready for action!!

Been practicing here for 7 years now and it’s been great! Everything myself and my band need for a great price.
