The Guide is bearthed at Macduff Harbour, which is one of the few harbours where you will see fishing boats in the Moray Firth. There is a slip for maintenance work along with a boat building and net making business.

The bird life is phenomenal, guillemots, razor bills, fulmars, shags and puffins can usually be seen from The Guide. Seals of course and the stars of the Moray Firth, Bottlenose dolphins, Porpoises and minke whales can be found at different times.
