New items from Gaza!! We have some beautiful new items in stock made by Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children, Gaza. Lovely ornate tiled mirrors and beautiful trinket or jewellery boxes.

If you are visiting Edinburgh for the festival or know of anybody who is please don't forget to call into Hadeel at 123 George Street. Have a look at the beautiful products and chat to the staff and volunteers, we would be delighted to see you.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival runs from the 11th to 27th August in Charlotte Square, just a 2min walk from Hadeel. We have a wonderful selection of books for sale in the shop so please come along and find out for yourself.

New Opening Times!! The Edinburgh Fringe festival has begun and the great news is that we will extend our opening hours until 8pm on Thursdays and from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays, all other days will be the usual 10am to 5pm. This will be for the month of August. Please share this information and we look forward to seeing you if you are visiting Edinburgh.

Beautiful new items from Gaza have just arrived, made by Sulafa, UNRWA Embroidery Project.
Sulafa, established in 1950, encourages self-support; it used to provide income for about 500 refugee women in 8 camps, but with the blockade on imports and exports, sales have declined. However 250 women still have work. Sulafa ensures that a traditional art form is kept alive as part of Palestinian cultural identity.

8.00 to 9.00 Palcrafts and Hadeel The Way Forward Since the last AGM Members of Council, Staff, Volunteers and various Stakeholders have been engaged in a professionally facilitated process of discernment as to the future direction of Palcrafts and Hadeel. From that meeting in June last year, starting with an in-depth review of our history and our purpose, we have been able explore our relevance, our options, our priorities, our structure, all of which has helped us to see more clearly how Palcrafts and Hadeel should move forward over the years to come. We want to use this time together to share with you our proposals for the future and we hope that you will be able to come along.

I was fortunate enough to discover Hadeel while wondering around the streets of Edinburgh. A wonderful initiative with welcoming staff and a range of authentic Palestinian products. Such a store should exist in every city in the world. Any and every Socially Responsible Consumer would appreciate the magnitude of such an initiative.

I received a beautiful iPad cover from a friend today. The pattern is really lovely and the case is well made. Thank you!
