About Hampden Park

Scotland's National Stadium

Hampden Park Description

Hampden Park is Scotland's National Stadium and home to Scottish football.

Over the years the Stadium has hosted many concerts such as Take That, The Rolling Stones, George Michael & AC /DC. We have also had rugby, boxing and american football games.

Hampden Park is also the perfect venue for corporate or private dining. Your guests can enjoy the ambience of the Scottish Football Museum over a glass of champagne before being ushered to the Lomond or Nevis Suite, where gala balls, high profile award ceremonies and annual dinners are regularly held for up to 500 guests.

Smaller gatherings for up to 120 guests and pre-dinner drinks for larger numbers can be held in the stunning Millennium Suite, with views of the hallowed turf.

Took the kids along to see Ed Sheeran, one is 12 and the other was probably one of the youngest at the stadium last night. They had a wonderful time and i must say a special thanks to the exceptional team of staff you had on.

They escorted us to a separate toilet just before the main act came on as there were mighty queues at the main loos ( and it wasn’t just children getting assisted but also any poor ladies hopping about in anguish waiting for the lines to move - it was so appreciated by all)

My little one was treated like a VIP by everyone, we were approached several times by people just checking if we were ok and offered complimentary ear plugs whilst on her quest for icecream ( there was none so she was gifted with a packet of sweets which she was more than happy with) and we were again escorted around the building by really friendly staff trying to to help her as much as they could

I would not hesitate in taking kids to a gig like this again as we felt so well looked after - thanks again xx

The security women and men lining the catwalk at OTR 2 were brilliant last night. Handed out loads of free water to the crowd and looked after us all. Thank you.

User

I attended Ed Sheeran last night with my Friend who is disabled and the events team were absolutely fantastic couldn't have been more helpful. Well done to everyone for making this an amazing night. Xx

User

Went to see Ed Sheeran last night. The staff were good, quite helpful and friendly. Stuff like bars, toilets and stuff had plenty signs around. Overall good first experience. Thank you

User

Great evening spent watching Ed Sheeran Friday 1st June, got in very quickly without queuing. Drinks queues were long but there were a lot of people.

User

Attended Ed Sheeran tonight. Arrived early and didn’t queue to get in. Bar token system worked well, didn’t queue for long to buy them and then a minute or two at most at the bar (at three times throughout the night). Went to the top bar mind you, the queue at pitch level looked massive. Toilet queue was as expected, as usual not enough toilets for a venue of its size. All in all tho no real complaints. I was worried about bar/toilet queues after hearing about the Stone Roses but no reason to complain tonight.

To say Hampden Park claims to be the national stadium I was really unimpressed.

It's 2017 and the stadium only accepts cash, with no cash machine available and absolutely no mention of this on your website. I think it's about time you dragged yourselves out of the 90's

Ques for the bar where shocking Qued for 30 minutes to get a flat pint at the end of it. Totally unorganised.

The toilets are another thing qued for ages the use the 1 female toilet in comparison to the 2 mens toilets to find there where only 5 cubicles, no wonder it took so long. No toilet paper neither

Sound quality was really poor too!

As for security, my bag didn't even get searched, my boyfriend was half waved over by a metal detector, not exactly thorough the lady sat next to us had managed to smuggle in 2 cans of drink in her bra after being waved over with the metal detector a far cry from the security I've seen/experienced at other stadiums.

It's a good job the roses were so brilliant otherwise this would have been up there with one of the worst nights I've experienced.

Only plus is the location and you're staff, all the staff i spoke to where lovely and as helpful as they could be considering the poor facilities.

Wouldn't rush back.

Beyoncé concert 9.6.2018

After Manchester events last year, I was shocked that our bags weren’t checked. I felt very unsafe all night and kept looking around. It is very dissapointing to know that organisers and security don’t learn from past sad events! Anything could happen!

User

Shocking venue!! Attend Ed Sheeran last night to stand in a que on the pitch for half hour to get a drink to be turned away because they decided to shut the bar!!!!! Who does that packed gig and they close the bar (the only cash bar) to then stand in a massive que for drinks tokens to stand in an other huge que for drinks missed the first two songs! Ridiculous!!! Quarter to 9 he came on it was half 7 we went to get drinks! You need to get this sorted big time! Paying all that money for a gig and you can’t even get a drink

User

Poor venue, paid to see ed sheeran and couldnt see a thing he was so far away, use of large tvs either side would have been helpfull, toilets flooded

User

It's just a terrible stadium. The seats are miles too far away from the pitch and the angle makes it difficult to see the opposite goalmouth area properly.

User

Horrendous venue for a gig !!!

Was at Ed Sheeran last night (who was fab - well the little of the concert i seen)! Spent most of my night stood in a queue for the bar or toilet.

Firstly the bar was 1 queue for tokens & another queue for actual drink wtf is the point in that??? The pitch bar had a queue a mile long serving warm beer & cider & abruptly decided to close before the end of the concert!

Toilets!!! Portaloos ground floor with no organised queue at all & as per you expect they were minging. The other option was climbing 104 stairs to the top to then go down two sets of stairs to queue again for the ladies toilets, after 25mins finally getting in i was met by 1 free toilet with the door literally hanging by 1 hinge & no toilet roll !!!

However what really bugged me was the security manning the gents toilet picking & choosing which ladies they would/would not allow in to sneakily pee ! Clearly i never tickled their fancy as i was refused entry & when i challenged the man / boy regarding this (as he waved 3 ladies who mustve fitted the bill out the gents) i was met with a stinking attitude!!

SORT IT OUT!!!

User

Ed Sheeran was amazing. Venue was disappointing. It definitely felt like being at a football match. Seats were awful, crammed together. No space for a jacket, bag, umbrella! Event organisers really need to think about this. Bar queues were ridiculous, needed a few more makeshift stands selling soft drinks/ice-cream etc. I was astounded at the lack of security and checks. My family and I never had any searches, not even bags! You were free to walk into this event with anything... knives, drugs, a bomb, weapons etc. This really worried me

User

Ed Sheeran concert last night was brilliant. Shame that the same can’t be said for the logistics of getting there (well getting back. Need to open up parking at hampden to public who have paid plenty to see the concert. The police did a good job though getting people to join the queue for train station although shame about the ignorant queue jumpers. Free for all at the train station. Not good when you are there with a 10 year old. Disappointing Hampden :-(

User

Been going to gigs now for over 10 years stood twice for over an hour to get served at the bar only to get to the front and them to pull the shutters down absolute disgrace never left a gig early in my life until today never going for another concert here never felt so under appreciated at a gig in my life hampden park you should be ashamed of yourself. Stood for over an hour to get in as well missed the whole support act. Stood at a toilet for 20mins to get turned away at the last minute to say it was only for staff. Never enjoyed the gig 1 bit.

User

Bars that only sold alcohol - staff looked at me like I was crazy for asking for cola. Food kiosks that only sold burgers/meat - I'm vegetarian and just wanted chips. I was told I could get them downstairs. I asked seven stewards where the nearest lift was, no one knew and didn't bother to find out. A cleaner found the lift for me, i went down and it was a dead end. Drunk girls staggering around before the even show started (late). Incompetent stewards turning a blind eye to this and to people blocking stairways. And don't get me started on the lousy sound system, Beyoncé's voice sounded muffled. I didn't recognise some of my favourite songs. I left after 1 hour, a waste of money and a big disappointment. I will never return to Hampden.

User

Absolutely ridiculous place to hold concerts.

In the middle of nowhere.

No taxis would pick us up from the stadium and a 2 hour wait to get on the platform for a train back to the city centre

Had to walk over a hour to get back to our hotel

Shambles

User

Absolutely no organisation for last night's event and completely no regard for health and safety. We queued so long that we missed the whole support (thinking due to increased security checks) but when we got to the front our bags weren't even searched? There wasn't really a queing system in place either outside or inside the venues with everyone just crushing in as they saw fit. The corridors were also rammed to the point we could hardly move with no guidance of how to get to the pitch everyone was pushing back and forth. We had to try and queue to buy tokens and then double back on ourselves to go into another bar queue to wait another age to be served, very poor set up.

User

Absolute nightmare had 2 adult tickets and was planning on paying at the gate for 2 kids. To drive just under 100 miles to be told that tickets had been taken of sale 30 mins prior. 100s of people walking out 1-0 down to Costa Rica still couldn’t pay to get in . Backward !
