Happy Haggis

Busy family run restaurant. Excellent food, friendly & attentive staff, reasonably priced. What's not to like, it's a grand wee place.

Man , best chips in Scotland. Owner liked my new car (Skoda Superb). I liked his chips. Coming from Glasgow with a million chippies , I thought I knew chippie chips. HH takes them to a new level. You Aviemore peeps don't know what yoove got. Wish I had a bag now!!!

Happy Haggis has utterly ruined all other fish & chips for my husband and I. Where ever we try F&C, we cannot help but compare to the perfectly battered filets of Haddock and steak fries we enjoyed in Aviemore. It's so hard to find haddock and that perfect wispy batter elsewhere. We ate at Happy Haggis three times during our four day stay, it was that good. We even talk about going back to Aviemore, simply to have more Happy Haggis (we live in California). So thank you but also damn you!

Group meal whilst on our holidays, got the fish supper meal deal and was impressed! The kids version almost as big as the adult ones. Service was good, very polite. Would be a 5☆ but the fixed seating was very cramped we all felt very squashed in which was a shame as there was only another 2 tables in at the time.

Just went in at 19:45 to find the restaurant closed already. It's a Sunday but it said it closed at 21:30. Strange. Still lots of people around. So we've gone elsewhere. Another group did the same. I'm not sure why; seems weird to be so willing to lose business. So we went to nearby Smiffy's and it was great.

I went to the Happy Haggis after looking at the reviews but was very disappointed. Chips were dry and hard plus the fish had a very strange taste to it.

Definitely avoid this chip shop as there are much better and cheaper ones not far away.

Excellent food. Tried some of the Scottish specialities on offer... Yum! Good food, restaurant seemed to have a great ambience but we used take away service. Good portions. Great prices.

This chipper is hands down the best chipper I have ever experienced. I'd be inclined to say that it's even ruined other chippers for me as it is too good. Beautiful, happy and friendly atmosphere; Ive had the steak pie and the hunters chicken. The hunters chicken is out of this world, I'd strongly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a good chippy!

I think they forgot our order. But give them credit, the fish was really nice. In my opinion on the pricey side.

Love to know who ran this chippy in the early 70's. I worked at the Strathspey and the Post House Hotel back then . On our night off we'd go dancing and drinking then on to the Happy Haggis for Haggis and Chips. Fantastic 😀 Thanks for the memories.
