We've came in for some fish and chips and it was delicious, good price, very nice atmosphere and music :)

We visited here for dinner on our family holiday - 21/8/2017. The waitress was very friendly and went out of her way to help us with suggestions of where to visit and directions etc, she was great, a real benefit to them!!

The food was fabulous, I had the traditional fish and chips and it was my favourite meal during our entire holiday!! All of our meals were great, huge portions too!! My daughter had a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, the coleslaw was gorgeous, the best in all of Scotland!! Thank you to the lovely waitress, and for a brilliant meal!! � I just wish we'd found it earlier in our holiday as we'd have definitely gone back!!

We visit the island for business and stay at the boathouse which we love. Had a big team night out and had a great time. Food as ace as always the staff were very good we can be abit raucous so apologies to the lads. See you soon . Rich x

We popped in for lunch today, as it was recommended by the guys at the Tourist Information Office. The fish and chips was incredibly good. Followed by a knickerbocker glory which was fab. We’ll definitely be back next time we pop over to Bute. �

We enjoyed a super lunch with you guys today. Food was amazing, my wifey reckons it’s one of the best veggie burgers she’s had, and my incredibly picky daughter, loved her toastie... staff could not have been more welcoming! Wonderful, highly recommended!

Was down for our last wee family day out to the island this year and decided to try fir first time...food was fantastic even managed a wee dessert and the Baked Alaska was just superb..waiter was both pleasant and attentive...defo gonna be back

Visited the restaurant on a day trip with family to Bute (2 children plus parents and grandparents). Meal was absolutely delicious. Would recommend the lamb shank and haggis stuffed chicken. Children's meals were lovely too. Great puddings too. Brownie and sticky toffee pudding were both scrumptious. Service was brilliant - the lady who served us was really friendly and great with the little ones. Shame we were only there for the day as would definitely have paid another visit if we'd been staying longer.

The people and service is brilliant! The decor is lovely and they serve the best Cullen skink I have ever had! It is a must have x

I've been here twice, and I'm very happy about this place. the first time was at lunch time, I told them I am vegan and the staffs have been very polite, and very helpful. Usually they don't do rice for lunch, but they did an exception for me. So kind! the second time, i back for dinner time and I had a thai veggy coconut rice curry. in the menu the rice was with eggs, but the chef was so nice and kind that has done the rice again for me to be in the vegan way. Thank you so much! I love it !! It was Sooo good. Oh my god! Was delicious. Again all the staffs has been quik, polite and very friendly. they also had internet. I really had a good time. highly recomended it.

Had the halloumi stack to start, followed by the veggie lasagne. Both courses were fantastic...

Staff were both friendly and cheerful and I've written this review before asking for the bill, just in case the fright changes my mind... 😉

First time back in the town for over a year, decided to try Mr Haws for lunch.

Greeted by a very pleasant and helpful waitress which was nice, I had the "chook burger" which was lovely and tasty I have to say, (and I'm a fussy auld bugger) lol.

Definitely on the "do it again" list next tine I'm down.

As an exiled Brandane I always have dinner here at least once when I come home. Never had a meal and service that were less than excellent and this time was no exception.

Amazing food and friendly service. Huge lamb shank which was just falling off the bone. Delicious! And the best sticky toffee pudding I've had in many a year! One of Bute's finest eateries.

Excellent service, great choice, friendly staff only too willing to help. Can't find anything negative too say really, which is good !. Was advised to book which we did. Well worth going to.

Was incredibly disappointed at the catalogue of disasters we experienced here; firstly waiter 'couldn't find' the gluten free menu (I'm a coeliac) and didn't really have much idea what I could have other than salad or baked potato as no gluten free bread, rolls or batter/breadcrumbs. Ordered a diet coke (I'm also a type 1 diabetic) to be given a regular coke which I was told was diet until I tested it with my blood glucose machine to confirm it wasn't. Ordered a chicken and sweetcorn potato, got brought tuna and then just plain chicken mayo which by then I was too hungry to send back a 2nd time. Hubby's burger was raw in the middle (red/pink bits), sent back by now irritated-looking waitress to be brought it back sliced in half showing all the big pink bits to be told that in fact it wasn't raw but that 'there was dye in the meat' (I've never heard of this being the case with a burger that should always be brown throughout!). Only positive was that the burger was deducted from the bill without us having to ask. Very sorely disappointed with the whole experience; grumpy staff, very limited gf options, wrong orders all round and no apology for anything. Won't be coming back or recommending!
