Harveys Furniture Inverness

No customer service or care at all!
About a month and a half ago my partner and I went into Harvey's in Inverness to look at tables, we told the salesmen about how we didn't get the keys for a while so we couldn't collect table till the 15th of July. He said this is ok and they would wrap the table up and put it in the warehouse for us until we could collect, we bought the table that day under the impression it was going to be looked after for us.

About two weeks later we got a phone call from the store asking when we were going to collect the table and that it was going to be kept out on the shop floor, I said it was supposed to have been wrapped and kept in storage till the 15th of July, she said that we shouldnt of been told that but they would wrap it and put it up stairs.

We phoned on the 10th of July to arrange collection of the table, the women then said you better bring blankets to collect the table as they had nothing to wrap it with.. BLANKETS! We paid a lot of money for this table and I didnt expect to be picking it up with blankets to go in the back of the van. When I said this wasnt acceptable I wanted to speak to the manager - turns out she was the manager and was rude about the whole situation making out I had made up the conversation with the sales men saying he would get it wrapped, when I asked for a refund she said we would have to pay 50%! I then phoned customer services and they said they couldnt help because it was a sale item. - The table still cost £800 they also asked if I had it in writing that they said they would wrap it, this is not something I thought I would have to get in writing as its just a common thing. With no help from the store or customer services we went to collect the table on friday, the large bit of the table was wrapped with a little bubble wrap and when we asked if we could see the table the women was rude and unhappy - but you couldnt blame us as the table had just been sitting out for 1 month. The chairs weren't wrapped at all and the extension of the table was wrapped in the thinnest sheet ever. On arriving to collect the table we had to climb down a huge set of stairs with the table with absolutely no help from anyone in the store and not so much as an apology for any of the hassle.

I have bought a lot of cheaper furniture and got a lot better service and they have wrapped it soo well and kept it for us till needed AND helped us out of the store with it.

I have just bought a house and liked a lot more things from Harveys but this has totally put me off.

I didnt feel like there was any customer care from the two different people I spoke to at customer services or the manager at Harveys.

I think this is appalling and iv never ever had an apology for being promised things that they couldn't deliver, I find it ridiculous they said they didn't have anything to wrap it with also. Is this a normal thing for them that customers furniture doesn't get wrapped???
