Popped in today with my husband and really enjoyed reading and looking at everything on display especially emma as we went to school together, then we went for a drink and a lovely piece of baking in the cafe. We will definately be back.

Love all the photographs etc. Reminds me of my teens in the 60's, but making me homesick for Scotland.

It's been my adopted home for 17 yrs now and I still love it's little quarks I'm sorry to see Clyde street schools buildings all bordered up, such a beautiful building! And I love the wee shops along the front, such an eclectic lot, but, have to say, Dino's is my fav place, I love the fact it feels like ur walking back in time, I the same can be said of central pharmacy, the history hits u the minute u walk in with all the shelves lined with potion and pill bottles! I could spend my entire life in places like those, i adore history. So, Helensburgh itself is a hero of mine.

Happy memories of spending weeks in Helensburgh as a wee girl when my mum cooked and looked after a lady in a big house at the top of Sinclair Street, I think it was called Glengyle, and had a beautiful garden. Some places leave everlasting and wonderful memories, I love getting back for a visit.

Used to visit my brother when he lived in a house in Queen Street owned by a really pleasant elderly polish couple with the adopted name McPherson. I do believe that the old gent had a trawler at one point and later, he owned a leather craft shop in the town. Another name that I remember was Bob Warrans who was a lecturer in catering at Greenock college. I would recommend the town for a nice day out for people outwith the district. My brother and I now live in Newton.Stewart.
