Hot off the press is January’s Newsletter. There are copies of these in your child’s room.

Staff stayed on late last night to partake in some in-house training. We discussed safeguarding, speak up and planning in the under 3’s and Pre-school. As always there was lots of professional discussions and some exciting new ideas to take forward in 2020.

Loose parts play is a type of play that supports invention, divergent thinking, problem solving and offers a sense of wonder to children. They are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our enrolment day today. We hope to see some of you again soon. The play rooms looked fantastic but I must say it was very quiet and tidy in the nursery without the children. Hope you all have a great weekend.

This weeks Christmas events at Heriot Hill 🌲

Thank you to everyone who donated to Child Bereavement Uk. We will let you know our grand total next week. The children and staff had a fun filled PJ day on Monday and our families enjoyed the hand/foot painting collages in each room 🖐🏼

Next week in aid of Busy Bees chosen charity Heriot Hill will be raising money for Child Bereavement Uk. On Monday 18th November children are invited to wear their PJ’s to nursery and all week parents/carers and siblings are invited to take part in family handprint painting. Donation boxes will be displayed in all rooms. Thank you in advance for your support.

To support the early learning and child care expansion the Care inspectorate have developed a new resource: Space to Grow: indoor/outdoor settings.
The resource is a tool to be used in conjunction with Space to Grow, Out to Play, My World Outdoors and the Practice Note: Early Learning and Childcare: Delivering High Quality Play and Learning Environments Outdoors. The resource will be sent to all early learning and childcare and out of school care settings.

SCHOOL LEAVERS ONLY 🏫 A reminder that on Saturday 10th August the children who are leaving for school and their families are invited to our Graduation 👩🏼‍🎓 BBQ 🍖 12pm-2pm. Delicious BBQ, graduation ceremony, and a children’s entertainer. It’s a fun day but also very emotional. Get the tissues at the ready 😢
