�We have heard some news of fraudsters contacting overseas students and visitors who are in the UK, pretending to represent UK or foreign law enforcement. They are asking for your personal details, and then threaten that if you do not transfer them money then they will deport you.
Never respond to these scams! The Police will never ask you to withdraw money so ‘it can be checked’, neither would they demand money from you in order to prev...ent deportation. ��
Remain vigilant and don’t give out your personal or financial information to anyone over social media; protect your information and have the confidence to question unusual requests.
If you have made a payment to someone claiming to be the police or government department, and you think you might be a victim of fraud, you can report it to Action Fraud any time of the day or night using their online fraud reporting tool. You can also get advice about fraud or cyber-crime by calling 0300 123 2040.
Stay safe, and if you are ever unsure about a request like this then contact the Universities International Student Advice Office by calling on +44 131 451 3028, emailing them at: isao@hw.ac.uk or popping in to see them in the Student Service Centre in the Hugh Nisbet Building (near the Student Shop).

Register with the NHS today at the Freshers Fair - right now at the Student Union! Find them in Zeros 😁

Tickets are £5 for entry into Zeros Gin Garden, as well as your ticket you are also given a card with each Gin brand in attendance on it, when you visit the table on the gin card, get it crossed off when you visit each gin supplier.
Once inside you can visit different tables and different Gin brands and taste their gin with Premium fever tree tonic or one of the cocktails prepared by the gin representative. It is also a chance to learn more about Gin, your favourite brand a...nd also what makes each gin so unique.
There will be 7 gins to try as well as a nice garden style seating area to chill out and enjoy while you discover new gins. Tickets are limited to a maximum of 300 and are not included in the freshers pass. You need to be over 18 to enter the gin garden as this is an age-restricted event.
Gin and tonics and gin cocktails will be available in zeros at a reduced price for ticket holders only.
Ticket holders can come and go as they please but must have an over 18 band as well as a special band to enter zeros, which is put on when buying a ticket.
