Heronwood House is a comfortable stone built house close to the city, enjoying stunning views from its vantage point overlooking the tree lined River Ness.
It is presented uniquely and artistically to a high standard throughout, incorporating many unusual and charming period features.
A superb feature of the house, is a large balcony looking down on the famous River Ness flowing through the grounds below.
Arranged over two floors, this spacious self catering house can accommodate up to 6 guests with ease. The main lounge is a delightful room
with its own access to the large balcony with outdoor dining furniture, an ideal spot to sit and enjoy a drink whilst listening to the river below.
The kitchen /dining room is bright and spacious, with integral units and plenty of room for dining.
There is a single bedroom with en-suite shower room on the ground floor, again with access to the balcony. On the first floor there are two individually designed double bedrooms (one en suite), both with zip and link 6ft beds, as well as a family bathroom.
It is ideally placed, just one mile from Inverness city centre and within close proximity of numerous tourist attractions. The city has superb leisure facilities including a multi-million pound theatre complex, an ice rink, twelve screen cinema, and a swimming 'aqua-dome'. There are a wide variety of retaurants, cafes, and bars, set against the backdrop of the imposing Inverness Castle looking down on the River Ness. Take a stroll along to the Ness Islands or by the banks of the Caledonian Canal. Visit Inverness Cathedral, museum and castle or take a dolphin cruse to spot the famous bottle-nosed dolphins which inhabit the waters of the Moray Firth.
There are also many places of interest and historical sites within easy reach, including Cawdor Castle, with its picturesque gardens and fscinating history, dating back to the days of 'Macbeth' and Urquhart Castle on the banks of the famous Loch Ness. Wander through the atmospheric battlefields of Culloden and visit the new 'five star' audio /visual experience, or take a short drive to Fort George, set out on a promontory with spectacular views of the Moray Firth.
There are also superb sandy beaches and miles of unspoilt coastline to explore. The surrounding area is renowned for its wealth of sporting activites. Fishing, horse riding, sailing, climbing, hill walking and mountain biking are all enjoyed in the locality. There are a number of excellent golf courses close by, open to visitors.
Further afield , holidaymakers are simply spoilt for choice. Head west along the shores of Loch Ness to the charming village of Fort Augustus. To the North is the wild and dramatic scenery of Sutherland and Caithness and within 30 minutes to the south lies Aviemore and the Cairngorm mountain range.
