What a great place! They catered really well for my daughters coeliac disease and we all had the most delicious meal. The venison and chorizo burger (on the specials board) was amazing and I hope it’s around when we come back. The staff were brilliant and I enjoyed the best G&T I’ve ever had! Thoroughly recommend.

We were given a voucher to use and went last night. I ordered the haggis starter and my husband ordered the trout. They were both delicious but the only thing I would say was the marked difference in portion size. I had 3 times the amount he did. Maybe cutting back on the size of haggis and mash would not go amiss. They didn't have the roasted pepper tart so instead I had nut roast with puy lentil sauce. Wow!! It was incredible. I have never tasted anything as good! The sauce was beautiful and so very tasty. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was very good. The bread was a bit thick on the sandwich though. The restaurant is tastefully done out. It was warm and comfortable. Staff were attentive and we left, knowing we will go back.

We loved the waitress, the cocktails, but most of all - the spiced cauliflower! Had a lovely meal. Welcoming staff, warm restaurant, good food and really nice staff. Will definitely come back if we’re back in NB.

Lovely fresh food, all the staff are fantastic and we love the fact we can take our dog in with us while we enjoy lunch and a wee glass of wine. Menu is updated regularly but always has something tasty to choose from.

I love the Herringbone. Food is really yummy and cocktails even better. Try the seafood chowder (starter portion is fine as a meal). Definitely has the best atmosphere out of all the bars/pubs in North Berwick. It is relaxed and, as such, you need to go in there in a relaxed frame of mind and enjoy the ambience. My little girl (2) is very welcome there too and loves it. Try the sweet potato fries for a toddler!

I live locally and love Herringbone. They do quality, local food at reasonable prices, the staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome whether you are there for a few delicious cocktails - the raspberry mule and the NB sea dog are my personal favourites, or a 3 course dinner. Keep up the great work, and hurry up and bring in some nice cakes, so I can come over for afternoon coffee and cake :-)

I absolutely love this place, I havnt been to the North Berwick Herringbone but the Edinburgh bar and grill is amazing! Myself and my boyfriend are regulars....amazing food and friendly staff x

Fav bar in north berwick staff all lovely and friendly, great selection of wines gins and cocktails, and on Saturday they had the grand national on, great atmosphere, but sadly no winners for me, it is a must visit place

A really brilliant bar on the high st. Me and the family went for food on our first night of a short break and then came back for every meal.



Lovely food, great ales and wines, perfect service and friendly clientele.

A huge thank you to everyone at the Herringbone for a phenomenal evening last Sunday. I was lucky enough to win a Facebook competition and receive a bottle of Meerlust red wine. Top quality and complimented the incredible good food. Can highly recommend the John Muir's Garden cocktails, though perhaps not in the quantity we had! Thank you Ash and Martin for a brilliant night... and the Eggs Benedict worked a treat the next day �

2nd visit and not disappointed, welcomed and attended to. Service and waitress/waiter staff 100%

Bar staff helpful and food OMG amazing!!! Love the atmosphere here - highly recommend. Keep up.the good.work.guys x

Excellent food (if a little burger centric), relaxed surrounding - service was below expectation.

Asked about their burger / drink offer to be told it wasn’t available on a bank holiday even though this was a local (not bank) holiday, had to remind staff about order and for the bill - not a big deal but slightly annoying.

Would recommend and return.

I have been very poorly lately and my friend decided to treat me to my lunch, we had a 12.30 booking I have to say the food was really really good quality and was really tasty, and to have non alcoholic cocktails was lovely, we were shown to our table by a very polite member of staff. However within about 5/10 minutes I was getting very cold and had to put my jacket back on, we did raise this with the member of staff who said she would address this, as the time was going on we yet again addressed the member of staff by this time my friend was was really cold)(we were sitting at the table next to the till) and she replied that the heating had just been put on and takes an hour to heat up??? Our mains came and the member of staff was so aware how cold we was and on hindsight we should have asked to move, but on the other hand seeing how cold we were the member of staff should have addressed this, she didn’t seem concerned, the sad fact was we couldn’t wait to leave to go somewhere warm to go for a coffee.

Food was fine but the restaurant was chilly. Not exactly cold but I had my coat on throughout the meal and the rest of my party put theirs back on. The staff told us they had switched the heating on when we mentioned the temperature but it remained very uncomfortably cool. We would have stayed for a dessert and more wine but left because of this. Such a shame as the food, service and decor are good.
