Location is not very near the train station, would have to walk around 15-20mins, which is inconvenient for travellers with big luggages. Staff was helpful and quick with service.

Got a flat tire in Skye, after tire pressure light came on repeatedly. Called the roadside service number Hertz provided and while they said a service team was coming, nobody showed after two hours. Called Hertz again, they said you need to put spare on yourself and drive to an authorized Hertz garage and put a new tire on. Did that and the garage called their Hertz contact and they denied authorization because it wasn’t the same “brand” as the others, despite specs being exactly the same. Since I was stuck in Skye, I had to purchase the tire myself just to get to my next destination. I returned the car to Edinburgh and said I would like credit for the tire applied to my bill. Now they said, since I didn’t purchase the insurance from Hertz, I’m out of luck. Bottom line, Hertz did not care about our safety, convenience, satisfaction or anything else. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ IN EUROPE. I’m also a Gold Member. Awful.

Didn't give us a condition report on pick up then charged us for damage we couldn't even see much less caused apparently rim was scratched.
absolutely terrible service!!!!! Asked to see previous condition report for car which they at first refused to do.
Kept us waiting over half an hour even though they knew we had a train to catch.

Even though I was 5 hours to late to pick up the car the very friendly and professional staff organized a new car within less than one hour. The car was in excellent condition. The return was also very easy and fast although in the late afternoon a lot of people returned their cars. I was more than sattisfied with service and kindness of staff. I would definitely rent again at this location.

The place is a joke. While the process of getting the car isn't bad, make SURE you review your car with them, and EVERY little dent, scratch, etc. is documented. Even if the process takes 15 minutes, do it. Why? They'll find something and charge you for it. I highly recommend getting insurance to ensure you don't flip the bill. Additionally, save your receipt when filling it up, and when you return the car, be prepared to wait.
This is the second time Hertz International has been just horrible.

Why even have a website if every option is "call to book"?? That is the point of a website, to AVOID having to spend time calling international!

The worst thing I did in my life rent a car and not sap the extra insurance and then I was told that avia broken a wheel and a scratch that were placed in the part and to an a without I was charged 460 extra pounds for something I did not do And when they complained they laughed at me

Avoid at all costs! I booked a car hire the day before and pre-paid for the booking online, you would think that once you have paid for the car hire and have a reservation number that would guarantee you a car. When we arrived they said they had run out of cars and that it was our fault for booking the day before. Apparently we were foolish for believing that a confirmed reservation and subsequent payment would result in the manifestation of an actual car to hire! To add insult to injury because we were 15 minutes late (after having waited in the queue for 30) we were charged a no-show fee, for a car that didn't actually exist. Basically, if you don't actually want a car, enjoy rude customer service and would like some extra fines added on top, then this is your place. I have actually had reasonably good experience with Hertz otherwise, just don't go to this branch.

We avoided a different location due to the number of bad reviews and allegations of fraudulent charges but encountered the same experience ourselves. Staff informed me there was a small nick on a tyre for which they charged us 260 €. We hit nothing on our trip; I presented our Vehicle Condition Report which indicated pre-existing damage but they insisted it must have been unrelated. Even if the charge were legitimate, 260 € is an absurd amount to replace a small tyre. This has been our only experience with Hertz; however, taking into the consideration the wealth of similar reviews we’ve encountered we will encourage others to rent elsewhere.
