Bridgehead Ventures International is an independent consulting firm which specialises in the formation, management and development of international business expansion cluster initiatives for Scottish small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We call these Bridgehead Cluster Ventures or BCVs. Our mission is to play a leading role in the successful internationalisation of Scottish business in the framework of the Trading Nation Export Strategy of the Scottish Government. Our vision is to significantly increase the success rate and reduce the failure rate experienced in the critical early years of international expansion ventures by combining experienced general manager, local partner and cluster management resources and expertise. Developed using 30 years' experience of supporting clients to expand in the Middle East - and following extensive consultation with energy-focused businesses seeking to establish a foothold in the region - Bridgehead Ventures offers a new approach to business internationalisation. The Bridgehead Ventures model aims to meet the gap between the two main mechanisms of entry to overseas marketplaces - using export sales agents or setting up or acquiring an in-county business – to accelerate revenues and reduce costs and risks.
