Course title: Winter Walking Skills 001748KING 001749KING
... Course duration: 2 days. On the first day, we will look at equipment and a range of winter walking skills including use of crampons and an ice axe and movement over winter terrain. On the second day, weaim to complete a mountain journey to put the skills into practice, whilst also looking at other important aspects of winter walking such as navigation, avalanche awareness and route planning.
Available dates: Sat. 23rd to Sun. 24th Feb.2019 or Sat. 16th to Sun. 17th Mar. 2019
Experience: No previous winter hill walking experience necessary. However, course participants should have some previous experience of hill walking and navigation in summer and a reasonable level of fitness.
Kit: Course participants will need to supply most of their own kit including 4-season winter boot and ski goggles. Crampons, ice axes and helmets will be available for hire if you do not have your own.
Logistics: Course participants will need to meet their instructor in Aviemore at 09:00 . Course participants will need to provide their own transport from Aviemore to the course mountain venue each day.
£100 for 2 days for HLH all inclusive members. £135 for non card holders.
Monthly indivudual membership costs £20 per month and can be cancelled at any time. £30 for family membership. Discounts off this and many other courses, classes and shops!

High Life Highland are delighted to announce a learn to ski programme for Highland Schools. Initially there are 7 schools involved: Culloden Academy, Milburn Academy, Inverness Royal Academy, Charleston Academy, Inverness High School Dingwall Academy, Glen Urquhart High School and Kilchuimen Academy. Please get in touch if your child attends any of these schools and would like to learn to ski or Improve their Skiing. See the posters below for details.

Well done to the team in Inverness running the Schools Out programme. My boys have just had a week of various outdoor activities and it has far exceeded their expectations. Really nice instructors, well planned activities and the chance to make new friends with children from other schools. Thank you to all the staff!
