Highland Animal Reiki is a Healing service, available since May 2016. Reiki is an established complementary therapy that works alongside Veterinary and GP services.
Debbie O'Hara is an Animal Reiki Master Practitioner and Advanced Reiki Practitioner.

Welcome to this Highland Animal Reiki page : )
My name is Debbie O'Hara and in June 2016 I began offering this Highland Animal Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) service for animals, pets and people of our community.
Based in Lochaber the service is also available across Highland and for surrounding areas such as Argyll and Bute.
Reiki is a hands on healing technique that helps to alleviate symptoms such as pain or stress. It enhances relaxation and promotes healing for people, pets, wild life and a whole range of situations and circumstances.
Reiki is a gentle 'hands on healing practice' where the practitioner’s hands are placed on, or near, specific locations around the body which are aligned and associated with energy points (Chakra’s) which relate to aspects of our health and well-being (see illustrations in leaflets available)
Reiki practitioners have been 'attuned' and taught how to work with and channel the energy during a Reiki session - we are the tool for the energy to work through, it is the energy that is bringing the benefit to our clients.
If energy or Qi is blocked in a person or animal we are more likely to experience ‘dis-ease’ which in turn may cause lethargy, stress or illness whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Likewise if our energy is harmonious and at good levels we are more able to feel, and be, healthier, more relaxed and happier. There are key sites which represent the “energy” power houses within our bodies and these are our Chakras.
As a complementary therapy Reiki works alongside conventional medicine and is not a substitute for it and any Reiki practitioner who is asked to work with an animal or pet would prefer that the person requesting Reiki could confirm that their pet’s Vet had been consulted by them about Reiki before any sessions start. The Vet conversation could be a simple telephone call unless a vet appointment is due anyway.
In Lochaber I have already commenced work and each animals vet has been consulted beforehand.
