Another mini breakthrough for one of my clients with very limited movement. He cant walk and has the use of one arm. I see him for four short appointments a week and things have been getting better than when I saw him for two. The passive stiffness in his legs has gone down. His shoulder range of motion is still limited but he's exerting more force through it. But most notably he is missing no sessions. The effort to simply start is much easier to muster. So today the breakt...hrough was getting his hand off the safety bar, so his legs were working alone. I provided support that reinforced his balance so he could confidently work. With each little win like this there is a ton of consistent repitition for weeks to find out if this is the thing his body needs to get a step closer to securing independent movement. #personaltraining #movementtherapyinverness

Really glad I went to the gym at half 9 tonight. After a couple of days of running around in barefoot shoes and some uncontrolled internal rotation (standing ab exercises) I had a niggle (sharp pain) in the left knee. So took some coffee, doesn't make me jangle anymore, and got into my workout. I could feel the knee if I came off my line during squats but I was able to equal last week's effort. Things will be kept ticking over. I substituted leg extensions and sissy squats for a kneeling leg extension and got to work in the same way without the risk. Some of you will know how I like a bit of cramp so it was nordic curls and, a sign of progress, not enough cramp to enjoy. Bitter sweet... The point of this story is that getting your workouts in consistently is possible even with injuries and niggles and it is gonna make you feel good.
