About Highland Hydrotherapy

Here at Highland Hydrotherapy we aim to provide the best possible treatment for your dog. We operate in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Highland Hydrotherapy Description

Here at Highland Hydrotherapy we aim to provide the best possible treatment for your dog. We operate in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and aim to go โ€œthat extra mile for our clientsโ€. We are committed to working with you and your vet to ensure your pet receives the highest quality treatment available.
Situated on the outskirts of Elgin just off the A96 we are easily accessible from all areas in the North and North East of Scotland.
We have hands on approach with the dogs, and one of us is in the pool with the dog at all times. Interacting and working with the dog to achieve positive results. Treatment programmes are tailored to each dog to suit their temperament / personality, condition and fitness level. We encourage owners to participate in the hydrotherapy session, by encouraging their dog to swim to them, or just words of praise and fuss when their dog is resting. Creating a calm and relaxing environment for both visiting owners and dogs is of high importance to us. We understand how apprehensive many owners may feel bringing their dog along for its first hydrotherapy treatment. We allow plenty of time for the dog to come in and meet us and adjust to its new surroundings and for many what must be a very unfamiliar environment.
Our pool is 3. 5m x 2. 5m and 1. 2m deep. We maintain the pool temperature between 28 โ€“ 30 degrees and the water is kept crystal clear by continuous filtration. The pool is sanitised with bromine (which we have found to be not as harsh as chlorine), and UV filtration. Water levels are checked three times a day to ensure correct levels of Bromine, PH and Alkalinity. Our pool is cleaned between each hydrotherapy session. The pool is also fitted with resistance swim jets. Which give us the ability to increase the difficulty of the dogs swim programme by introducing more resistance into the water.

A male husky has just turned up at our door. Friendly boy, no collar. Anyone know who he is?

Highland hounds is a secure woodland on the outskirts of Elgin run by Denise. Itโ€™s a great place to take your dog/dogs to run free off leash without any worries. ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿพ

DISGUSTING! ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก
These poor doggies have been rescued in Moray with a total of 78 now ๐Ÿ˜ณ including the pups that have just been born. The SSPCA are asking for help through donations on their amazon wishlist to care for them. If youโ€™re able to help contribute in any way you will find their wishlist on the link below ๐Ÿ‘‡. I believe there are also drop off points in the area too!

Excess weight can put a massive amount extra pressure on your dogs joints as well as having other great implications on their health. This is a great example of how your dogs SHOULD look with an ideal weight so donโ€™t give in to those puppy dog eyes!!! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. Itโ€™s really not fair! They would happily eat all day but arenโ€™t able to tell us how they feel. There are lots of signs your dog is in pain etc and these can be subtle signs that sometimes go unnoticed. Hydrotherapy is a gre...at way of getting your dog back in tip top condition and at the same time easing any painful joints they may have and strengthening muscles they wouldnโ€™t normally use on land. There are lots of healthy natural treats on the market that donโ€™t cost the earth too. I would recommend using our local pet shop F.P. Birnie Pet Shop they have a great selection with the right advice on hand at the same time you would be supporting a small local business. Please get in touch if you have any queries on how we could help ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ฆ

Does your dog lack confidence in the water? With a little time and patience they can often overcome this! We were happy to help Spottie regain her confidence with a few sessions in the pool a while back.
When Spottie first came to us sheโ€™d had an unfortunate incident involving water which made her become extremely fearful. Her mum wished for her to regain her confidence so she could enjoy a wee dook in the canal when they went on their walks.
Thanks to Spottieโ€™s mum for the ...update today, this was great to see! I think itโ€™s fair to say sheโ€™s now loving life to the full ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ
