An exciting morning at Highland Safaris with Heliscot bringing visitors with from Switzerland for a Private Charter Safari. They had a fabulous time on the hill with our Safari Ranger Colin and enjoyed a delicious sharing platter made by The Workshop, Aberfeldy at lunch time. Not sure that the residents of our Red Deer Centre were too impressed with take off though!

These little red deer calves are just starting to run around now and are losing their spots as they get to 6 weeks old, while the big boys are growing their antlers and keeping cool in the Perthshire sun. Come and see some up close, feed them by hand and learn about their life in the Scottish hills at our Red Deer Centre - a great outing for all the family.

We are proud to have a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence... Another fantastic 5-star review for Highland Safaris! 🦌
"Everything about Highland Safaris is superb, from the ease of booking to the people who work there. We booked a Forest Safari, our driver was Cameron. It was such a wonderful way to spend an hour and a half, learning things we would otherwise miss and really introducing our children to nature in a fun and informative way.
We also spent an hour at the Red De...er Centre with Colin, who again was excellent with the children. They loved feeding the deer (as did we!) and seeing Ossian, the barn owl, it was lovely to see them up close.
Lunch in the cafe was excellent, a lovely space looking out on the Perthshire countryside, with a good range of lunch options. The shop was really well stocked, with gifts for both children and adults, too much choice really!
We will definitely return when we are next in the area, the Mountain Safari next time. Would recommend to anyone."

What a wonderful day, sunny blue sky and lots of snow. Big thanks to our off the road drivers/guides, Andy and Colin. Snow chains on and off we went into terrain unreachable until today. Guys were brilliant and took time to point out local sights/habitat

and show how despite snow etc the land was preparing for better conditions for the summer months. They even provided a hot drink, bit of shortie and a wee dram in the

bothy before our return journey. Well worth the trip. Staff in gift shop and cafe were also very welcoming.

Congratulations also to Groupon, this is one of your best deals.

User

What a great experience on the Mountain Safari which was enjoyed by both adults and children (aged 9 - 12). Andy was a fantastic guide, keeping us all entertained whilst also sharing all his knowledge of the area and wildlife. It was fantastic to see the stags on the hill, travelling in the 6 wheel drive with the kids enjoying the views from above the roof porthole and then hot drinks in the bothy. We used Tesco vouchers to pay for the trip and would thoroughly recommend it.

User

Went for both Forest Safari and Mountain Safari during the snow, was fantastic to see across the valley and find tracks and signs of various animals while learning about them. Red Deer Centre and seeing Ossian the Barn Owl was also a great treat to finish off our visit, staff in the shop, cafe and tour all friendly and helpful. Made our stay in Aberfeldy something we’ve considered doing again.

User

We went on the mountain safari on Saturday 20.1 . We had an amazing time and George our guide was absolutely fantastic , very knowledgable of the area and made it a trip to remember for my son, my husband and I. The scenery was just beautiful and even more so in the snow. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe afterwards. Thanks for a fantastic trip to remember . We will be back.

User

We went on the Forest Safari with our guide Alistair. Enjoyed every minute of it and Alistair had such a great knowledge of the area and was great with our 5 year old. Would definitely recommend, there is something for everyone

Top day started at 6.00am with a dawn safari, great views and wildlife, followed by a breakfast then on to the red deer centre followed by panning for gold. Andy the guide was excellent. A reel great family outing. Highly recommend

User

The place is beautiful, rustic and charming, nestled in a beautiful country setting with fields and mountains surrounding it. There is a lot of activities on offer, fun for those very young to very old, even those with mobility issues. Even if you don't want to partake in the activities on offer you could just sit in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere taking lunch or wander around the shop to pick up something for yourself or as a gift for a loved one.

I was given a 4x4 Experience as a gift, Andy was my instructor. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I had a truly amazing time and would highly recommend it to those interested to try.

All the staff were attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend everyone to visit and experience the place for themselves.

Great, great day. Started with the Red Deer and Owl Encounter. Wee excited boy (and that was just my husband!) Tony was great. Then Andy took us up into the forest and although we didn't see a lot of wildlife (think the animals were all hiding from the cold in the trees!) we had a great time fording streams and driving through frozen puddles at 45 degree angles! All topped off with fab food and some lovely purchases in the shop. We'll definitely be back. Xxx

User

Great day at Highland Safaris yesterday. We went on a mountain safari with Allan in the Pinszgauer which was fantastic. Allan was a super guide and great with the kids - letting them take turns in the front seat and answering their many questions! The highlight was seeing a huge herd of red deer climbing through the snow and everyone singing Happy Birthday to my daughter over hot chocolate in the bothy . Staff were so friendly throughout and food delicious when we came back down for lunch. We would absolutely recommend the whole experience!

User

Came up on spec with my daughter and her friend, we spoke to the receptionist who was so helpful! (Good luck with her pregnancy) she explained everything clearly and we booked in for the deer and owl experience, we went to feed the deer (happy birthday Rua!) Then saw ossian the barn owl, tony was entertaining and knowedgable... We had a great time! Overall experience -- we had a fantastic time and will defo come back!
