Highland Titles Nature Reserves

About Highland Titles Nature Reserves

The Highland Titles Nature Reserve is owned by Highland Titles and literally thousands of lairds and ladies of Glencoe www. highlandtitles.com

Highland Titles Nature Reserves Description

Keil Hill: Until 1983, Keil Hill formed a part of Keil Farm. Evidence of old field dykes demonstrates that the drier areas were cultivated until fairly recent times. In 1985, with the assistance of a Special Management Grant, considerable commercial planting took place, much of it with the inappropriate softwood species, Sitka and Larch. The low density hardwood planting which was undertaken at the same time was largely unsuccessful.

Remember, at this time of year birds require high protein foods, especially while they are moulting.

User

Badgers & Pine Martens up at Larch Wood. Members of the same family so OK to share the same SpyCam footage :)

User

So who says cats don't like water? Certainly seems fine for wildcats ;)

The river SpyCam selection for Sunday... Reds and a Roe :)

User

Cloudy day, with the rain never far away... but it stayed dry if dull which is a nice change after the last few days. You'll see from the photos taken from my wanders that I'll post later tonight or tomorrow that it was pretty overcast.

User

Time is flying by and the visitor numbers are at a new high, so yet another board wipe to make space for more spotting results!

Shared from - Let's get MAD for wildlife 17 August at 22:05 · In the summer of 2017 a family of beavers had been discovered on the river Beauly, 2 adults, 2 sub-adults and 2 kits, and in line with their position on illegally released beavers the Scottish Government decided they should be captured and relocated to Knapdale. Unfortunately, in October the first three beavers captured all died within 2 weeks of captivity before they could be released (yes, they were in captivity... for 2 weeks!).
SNH think that there are one, possibly two beavers left on the river. They’ve been asked by the Scottish Government to continue the efforts to remove these animals from the river, so trapping has recently resumed.
So, that's 4 beavers dead at the hands of the Scottish Government, when they were perfectly happy and healthy on the river Beauly...all because Cabinet Secretary Roseanna Cunningham is dragging her heels over giving Scottish beavers legal protection.
That, along with the issue of beavers being shot whilst they can be, this delay is literally costing lives.

Nice photo from Glenfinnan Highland Games of Lochaber Pipe Band. We have sponsored the band for a few years now - the eagle-eyed amongst you will spot our logo on the big drum ;)

User

Probably one of the rarest captures across our SpyCams is the Red Fox. Maybe because farmers still shoot them, I'm not sure, but despite the ideal conditions the Reserve never seems to manage to hold a reasonable population so enjoy these 4 clips....it'll probably be a different fox next time :(

User

I know I shouldn't laugh but these SpyCams when the hazelnut slips out of it's little paws make me smile! It's the look of surprise on his face - where did it go??

User

Visiting or on tour today we had - Lady Eléonore Bocquel-Cassone and parents Aurélien and Aurélie from France. Lord Robert from Australia. Pauline and friends & family visiting Lord Ronald's plot and memorial bench. A lovely surprise to welcome Anne, our French Agent, & husband Pascale - from France obviously.

User

Grrr, nash, 😡😡 another no show for the last tour this afternoon - I hate having to say no to enquiries when people are visiting from all over the world (around 120 countries at the last count) but on paper we are full, we are actually booking the end of September and well into October already with only a few dates left, but so often this month we could have actually taken another booking if only people would let us know they had changed their plans!! PLEASE let us know if you are not going to visit at the appointed time. PLEASE help us to offer a tour to somebody who is actually going to turn up. Just pick up the phone...

User

Another batch of photos, from Andrew, our newest volunteer, this time! Really enjoying this, as between Heather and Andrew, the pressure is off for David & I to always be finding something new to snap :D The bird is a female Siskin if you were wondering, and I love the snail eating the mushroom :)

User

Visiting today for their Meet & Greet tours... Laird Dirk and lady Helmy from Netherlands Lady Petra and Lord Hans from Netherlands again Lord MIchael & Jenny from Australia Lord Bruce, Faye and Richard from New Zealand... Lord Roger & wife from England

Thank you to David for the adventure through the forest. His enthusiasm for the park was wonderful. Lots of information about what was happening with care for the park. A lovely setting for my 'block'. Proud to be a part of conservation of the area. Glad I visited. Thank you also to the lady in reception. Your welcome was very nice. A must do for every landholder.

User

User

Stunning land and a worthy cause! Stewart was a great host and guide, explaining all aspects of the Reserve and having the patience with us as we asked him to take our picture on the plot, witnessing our becoming engaged to be married. So happy we were able to visit our plot from the USA. We’ll definitely return to celebrate the anniversary of our engagement there!

User

Me and my mum just got back a couple of week's ago after visiting my land at the Highlands Title Nature Reserve. It was a snowy cold day and didn't think we would be able to have a tour but we arrived at the centre and was pleased to see our guide David ready to show us my land. He was very informative and we saw how the Titles community are preserving such a beautiful area. Had a great day and was so happy I managed to visit my land. Thank you David.

User

Looove the area, beautiful trails all around the reserve, went to visit my Lords plot of land...will go again!

User

Just Amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, passionate staff made for a quick and enjoyable tour. The reserve is just absolutely gorgeous and the work they are doing is truly impressive. Would love to return one day! Love from Canada!

User

I had a fantastic tour of th Highland Titles Nature Reserve with my mum and sister. We really enjoyed it and we`re looking Forward to come back soon.

Thanks to Dave and Andrew for the good time!

User

Had a wonderful tour and stood on our 'Land', Dave was fabulous and very passionate about the reserves future preservation, it was well worth visiting! X

User

Had a brilliant tour of the Highland Titles Nature Reserve to stand on our land for the first time. Our guide - Dave, was very interestingly knowledgeable about the reserve and the conservation and gave a great insight into what these 'Title Gifts' are giving to the long term preservation and development of the reserve. Great to also hear the involvement of the local schools and children in various projects. Interactive and thouroughly enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit. Thanks. Lord & Lady Williams.

User

Great to see how they are reinvesting in nature

User

Fantastic morning spent at the reserve with the delightful Stuart, great way to help preserve and conserve the wild Scottish Countryside!

User

Fantastic day. Totally unexpected and a memory we will treasure forever! Rescued by David who picked us up en route after seeing us panting in a clearing and drove us round the reserve and took us to our plot as well as showing us all of the wonderful work they are doing to preserve this magical place. Heaven on earth and well worth a visit, you can even come away with a Lordship!

User

David was an incredible guide. He told us about all the wonderful things the reserve is doing, educated us about the flora and fauna, and made us feel very welcome.

We look forward to visiting again!

User

Absolutely wonderful to visit ‘our’ land again. We come every spring & it’s amazing to see how much progress has been made. Feels like coming home & Stewart & David are immensely knowledgable & super welcoming. My land has been a birthday gift that gives me increasing pleasure. Love it.

User

Absolutely amazing! My father - you might know him as Lord Schous- bought his plot (together with a lovely kilt) without the rest of the family knowing - what a surprise when he told us we'd be visiting "our estate in Scotland"! Beautiful nature reserve, very welcoming atmosphere with wonderful and passionate staff (Dave and Stuart, you really made our day!), amazing views and cutest pigs ever. An adventure we'll be telling about the rest of our lives ;) Thanks for everything and best of luck, Lord Schous, Jacintha, Kaj & Jasmin
