Our licensee Alan Houliston and the Doonhamer Tartan Army Boys are taking part in the Kiltwalk in Edinburgh on Sunday 16th September 2018. They are doing The Mighty Stride which covers approximately 24 miles around Edinburgh. His chosen charity is Prostate Cancer UK as this is a cause close to his heart having seen close family, friends and customers affected by prostate cancer. It’s set to be a busy weekend in Dumfries and here at the Hole I’ The Wa’ we have live entertainment this Saturday (02.06.18) from ‘Haig’ in the afternoon and ‘Sandy Mac’ at night. A reminder that we serve lunch from 12 midday tomorrow and our bingo starts at 3pm. 😉😀👨‍🎤

Remember our fun quiz is on tonight at 8pm 🤔and the bingo is back to the usual time of 7pm tomorrow night.🕖

Our entertainment line-up for this bank holiday weekend is as follows: Sat 05.05.18 Live entertainment with ‘Wilson’ in the afternoon and ‘Wayne O’Neil ‘at night. Sun 06.05.18 We are open at 11am and lunches are served from 12 noon. Our usual Sunday Bingo is at 3pm and the karaoke starts at the earlier time of 6pm. A big thank you to everyone who was at our bingo on Thursday night - one lucky customer won £180 on the last game! Our Sunday bingo continues tomorrow at 3pm where the payout for the house in the first 5 games is (on average) £80 and the flyer will see the winner walk away with (approximately) £300. Visited "the hole in the wa" for the first time at the weekend,great pub ,friendly staff and lots going on.We were made very welcome,,,,will be back.

The hole in the wa is a friendly pub.staff are very accomadating.whether a local or not.

Stay in Penicuik and go to Dumfries to visit on a Saturday afternoon have introduced loads of our friends too and they love it. Brilliant atmosphere

Me and my husband got married in the mid steeple,and had our wedding reception in the hole in the WA in 1990 and what amazing time we had,amazing people and such warmth and a stranger even gave me flowers.ide recommend everyone to visit the pub,bar

I live in Surrey but when I visit Dumfries (which is quite often) and go out on town, always end up having a few in here... great pub, reasonably priced drinks too!

Great local bar plenty of atmosphere was made to feel like a local from ģetting there till leaving felt welcome

Good wee pub best in town for every night entertainment ie karaoke and singer every Saturday night plus staff is like family and good with customers.

Every time we're doon in Dumfries we always head here to catch up with friends, a cosy wee pub filled with big characters, great atmosphere

Cracking wee pub. Been a while since I visited Dumfries and found the beer and food great and the staff welcoming. Even better that St Mirren beat Queens so made the day all that bit better!

Cheeky couple of pints whilst on a flying visit to Dumfries. Made to feel very welcome and next time we will have food. It looked great!

Best pub in town .one pub that should be open too 3. And for one if it was I wouldn't go too chansers ha

To all those are holes who knock the "Hole in the Wa ". If you do'nt like it, stay away. By far the most regularly visited pub in town. ���

Had a round of drinks in here during our stay - comfortable & relaxed atmosphere - lads enjoyed their beers & I was more than happy with my prosecco

Such a joyful place and everyone having a great time singing. Really had a great night. It would have been. 5/5 if the loos were upgraded.
