We raised a grand total of £2250 for Sickle Cell Society UK, but more importantly, we raised, and are hopefully still raising, as much awareness as we can. Here's a video from the day of the ball - see if you can spot yourself and most importantly please share!! https://drive.google.com/open…

We absolutely loved the beautiful crowns and corsages that Meg from The Botanical Bus made for our guests throughout the night! The team came to Homerton to work entirely for free in support of Sickle Cell Society UK even though they're a brand new initiative and desperately in need of crowdfunding themselves. Pleas do take a look at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/the-botanical-bus and spread the word about The Botanical Bus! <3

We believe that the May Balls provide a significant opportunity to raise awareness of worthwhile causes to a demographic of young people who are likely to have successful and influential futures. Our ball, Olympus, sought to demonstrate that by working with the community, using local resources and relying on the generosity of major contributors, this objective is not only achievable but can also raise the overall quality of the event. We're hugely proud of the success of this endeavour, and thus we hope that future events across the University of Cambridge (and indeed at universities worldwide) will follow in our footsteps, raising the quality of May Balls/equivalent events, whilst aiding worthwhile causes. Please do spread the word! Sickle Cell Society UK

its WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY today, and in a final push to raise as much awareness as possible we'll be uploading photos, our programme, and giving shoutouts to all of those who contributed to our event - so watch this space!
In the meantime, take a look at http://www.blood.co.uk/… to see how you could save a life just by taking a quick trip to Addenbrookes!

A HUGE thank you to everyone - guests, workers, acts, businesses and special guests who attended Homerton May Ball 2015 in aid of the Sickle Cell Society last night. We hope you enjoyed all your evening as much as us whilst also helping us raise awareness for such an incredible cause. Our offering to the Gods even persuaded them to let us off with the weather!!
One of our fabulous photographers has uploaded a few of his photos onto his Blog, so make sure you check it out and ...relive the memories of last night. Other photos will be put up as soon as possible! http://photo.johanneshjorth.se/homerton-m ay-ball/
Don't forget it's World Sickle Cell Day next Friday (19th June) to further raise awareness for this condition. More information about our charity or World Sickle Cell Day can be found below.

We hope you have a brilliant May Week to round off the year!

Don't miss Rachel Clark, local up-and-coming singer-songwriter performing in our Temple of Artemis and Apollo from 9:55 tomorrow night! At 16 years old, she's already an NMG award winner and her debut EP ‘Invasion’ has been played extensively on BBC Introducing, with her tipped as 'the one to watch for 2015' by Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music. Listen to her most recent song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMaRneD1M _E
We've really loved collaborating with the local community wherever possible in the run up to Olympus, and Rachel is just one of many local contributors who have supported our objective for a more worthwhile and inclusive May Week by generously offering to get involved for free, thereby saving us more money to donate to Sickle Cell Society UK. Thank you, Rachel!

The unpredictable nature of Sickle Cell means that it interferes in all domains of the lives of sufferers and those around them. The Family Legacy is a great 30 minute drama that rams home the breadth of the impact the condition has. Please do watch it and keep striving to raise awareness! http://sct.screening.nhs.uk/familylegacy< br>
