Now that it seems summer is on the way finally, a reminder we can accept ALL cycle 2 work schemes. Pop in if you need more information and we can talk you through the process.

This is why we advocate the use of die-drawn stainless steel cables. Shimano is a great system but these cables are the worst. We have had at least 4 frames recently that have nearly been written off due to this mess being stuck in the internal routing. If you have them, change them before it's too late. It doesn't seem to hit the brake cables as hard. Let us know if you need assistance in making this switch.

Some things that "mechanics" miss when fully servicing a bike always leaves me wondering what else has been missed......

It is with great sadness that we have heard of the loss of one of our long standing local customers and friend, Jamie Gaffney. Jamie was a very kind and helpful guy, with a heart of gold and a real passion for cycling. We will miss having Jamie around on a Saturday to shoot the breeze after his morning ride. Went to Hooked on cycles for a bike Fit not knowing what to expect. Results exceeded all expectations and my position on the bike has radically altered(along with my strava times!). Nick is very knowledgeable and very thorough and I even picked up a couple of general riding tips along with an indication of what the correct position should be on the bike in order to maximize power output. If you are undecided on whether or not to get a bike Fit done then I would say go for it, it's probably worth more than any upgrade to your bike and for only £50 what have you got to lose!

Recently bought my second bike from the guys at Hooked.

Originally went in to buy a new saddle as I was suffering discomfort and after a few minutes looking had a chat and it was suggested to get a bike fit done. Already had one done at another bike shop. I made the appointment and arrived in good time while I got changed my bike was mounted onto the trainer. I was asked to get onto the bike and start pedaling. While pedaling I was asked questions about my cycling, where my discomfort, how long does ot take before the discomfort starts etc. After I would say 10 - 15 mins I was asked to come off the bike so some adjustments could be made. While these adjustments were made it was explained why these adjustment we being done and it was quite an education learning about that side off things as it shows that there is more than meets the eye to a bike fit. I was then asked to get back on the bike to see how if felt. After settling in to a steady pace I found it more comfortable than before. The following day I was due to take part in the Pedal for Scotland event which would be a good test for my new found seating position. I have say that after 60 miles (I cycled home after the event) It felt far more comfortable than before. Credit where credit is due I could have bought a new saddle but these guys clearly are passionate about doing the right thing and I am very pleased with the results. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough for their attention to detail and their knowledge. Keep the good work!

Nick was cracking for my bike fit as we all setting up my di2 with the qRings. Very helpful, honest and could not have been more accommodating. Spent hours with me ensuring I was happy with the setup as well as giving me the opportunity to try different positions. Could not recommend him any more highly.



Now going to be a regular because of the device for sure.,.

Nick immediately struck me as a guy who has his customer's interests at heart, rather just than trying to maximise his revenue as some other shops do. 2 months and 800 miles after picking up my bike, I think buying the Addict is one of the best decisions I ever made, and I am more than happy with my dealer!

I had a bike fit with Nick on Tuesday. He was great at explaining the changes he made and left me feeling very confident in the set up. Went out on my bike today and it felt perfect. Thank you.

Had a bike fit on Saturday with Nick. I had been suffering knee and hip pain after cycling around 20ish miles, also pins and needles in my hand.

A few adjustments to seat height, position and angle, as well as adjustments to handlebars and cleats have made a huge difference.

I went out today for 30ish miles and had no pins and needles or pain. I also increased my average speed.

The bike fit was well worth it and I highly recommend Hooked on Cycling

Got a bikefit about 6 weeks ago now and have definitely noticed a difference in my cycling. I feel much smoother on my rides and niggles I had previously are gone. A change to handlebars was recommended and made on the day and it felt right immediately. Couldn't fault the service received and was recommended by a colleague at work to get booked in. Should've done it last year! Thanks guys. Look forward to dealing with you in the future.

Also got a Sram climbing kit set up on my Focus Izalco making those hills climbs a little less taxing. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting fitted.

Fantastic customer service! Went with my wife at the weekend in the hope of troubleshooting her saddle problems and fully expecting to find only the most expensive saddle in stock would do. Instead she got at least 45 minutes of expert bike fitting attention during which we both learned lots and she emerged far happier and more comfortable, without having to change her saddle!!! So many places would just have sold us the most expensive saddle they thought they could persuade us to buy. We'll be back!

Delighted with the bikefit I got recently from Nick. Being at the novice end of the spectrum I’d put this off as was a bit nervous about whether I’d even purchased the right bike. Nick put me immediately at ease, and I really wish I’d done it sooner. Brillliant service, together with a fantastic customer friendly approach. Ive just completed my first event of the season and felt so much more confident and at one with my bike thanks to having had the session with Nick. Would highly recommend, especially to those who are still mulling whether to invest in this. Well worth it thank you.

Had a bike fit on Saturday with Nick. I had been suffering knee and hip pain after cycling around 20ish miles, also pins and needles in my hand.

A few adjustments to seat height, position and angle, as well as adjustments to handlebars and cleats have made a huge difference.

I went out today for 30ish miles and had no pins and needles or pain. I also increased my average speed.

The bike fit was well worth it and I highly recommend Hooked on Cycling

Got a bikefit about 6 weeks ago now and have definitely noticed a difference in my cycling. I feel much smoother on my rides and niggles I had previously are gone. A change to handlebars was recommended and made on the day and it felt right immediately. Couldn't fault the service received and was recommended by a colleague at work to get booked in. Should've done it last year! Thanks guys. Look forward to dealing with you in the future.

Nick did a bike fit and was very thorough in the set up, much more comfortable and having the correct riding position is essential whatever level your at. Also got a Sram climbing kit set up on my Focus Izalco making those hills climbs a little less taxing. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting fitted.

Fantastic customer service! Went with my wife at the weekend in the hope of troubleshooting her saddle problems and fully expecting to find only the most expensive saddle in stock would do. Instead she got at least 45 minutes of expert bike fitting attention during which we both learned lots and she emerged far happier and more comfortable, without having to change her saddle!!! So many places would just have sold us the most expensive saddle they thought they could persuade us to buy. We'll be back!

Delighted with the bikefit I got recently from Nick. Being at the novice end of the spectrum I’d put this off as was a bit nervous about whether I’d even purchased the right bike. Nick put me immediately at ease, and I really wish I’d done it sooner. Brillliant service, together with a fantastic customer friendly approach. Ive just completed my first event of the season and felt so much more confident and at one with my bike thanks to having had the session with Nick. Would highly recommend, especially to those who are still mulling whether to invest in this. Well worth it thank you.
