Our First Person on Scene Level 4 (FPOS L4) and First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC L3) courses are designed as the next step for a first aider, particularly aimed at those working in remote or hostile environments. Students will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and patients suffering a medical emergency.
Both courses include theoretical lectures an...d practical sessions, designed to develop an all-round first responder. Our Medical Manager and lead Med Instructor Tom Johnston has a wealth of knowledge and frontline experience. He uses a range of scenarios to prepare you for managing medical emergencies in high risk or hostile environments.

There's CP Training and then there's Horizon CP Training. Our unique 18-Day CP Course is held at 360 Degree Shooting Range & Training Centre, just outside the ancient and historic town of Plovdiv. The course consists of CP, FPOS, MIRA and Weapons Competency. The Course is definitely not for the faint hearted and the next course (27 August - 13 Sep) will contain some additional and specialised training that we are sure no other CP Training Provider currently offers. The course... in Bulgaria is a more Hostile orientated CP Course; the excellent Range facilities allow us to really concentrate on the Hostile elements of CP...you will be put through numerous Foot and Vehicle Contact Drills in both small and larger teams...you will learn to extract your Principal, even when the Principal is non-compliant...practice, practice, practice...repetitive training is key to build muscle memory and you will definitely experience that on this course.
Though lets not forget the Executive element of CP either, which is the foundation of everything. We get out the classroom as much as we can in order to "teach" lessons in a LIVE environment, with the kind permission of local businesses etc and this allows the student to more accurately see what is involved in specific aspects of Operational Planning. The Surveillance package is delivered in a more CP related context in order for you to see how the Surveillance Survey fits into the CPO's Operational Planning process and the practical aspect is conducted in the centre of Plovdiv and is one of the more challenging aspects of the course.
You will be required to produce a Threat & Risk Assessment on a real individual using only your own research skills and a basic scenario. Role Players are also used to add realism to different scenarios throughout the course. You will be challenged mentally and physically and will soon come to realise that, first and foremost, being a CPO is about using ones inter-personal skills. The course culminates in a fast-paced, 16-hour long, Executive Exercise in Plovdiv, where short-notice changes of Client Itinerary will challenge your patience and your flexibility. The good news is, is that it's not all work, work, work; we regularly go for dinner/drinks, as a course, in Plovdiv city centre, which is a great way for everyone to get to know each other and develop that all important element of Close Protection; Teamwork.

Just finished the CP FPOS FREC MIRA courses they exceeded my expectations the CP course was really intense it pushed me past my limits helped me to work under imense stress and pressure and really gives you a taste of what to expect in the real world their instructors we amazing passing on their experiences and knowledge in the field to me. The medical courses were something else the instructors we very passionate about the subject and with their wealth of experience passed that to me on the course and I really enjoyed all three courses and learned alot thanks to Horizon and their amazing team. I recently participated in the close protection and FPOS first aid course provided by Horizon ltd and Guardian-srm.



It was a both comprehensive and compressed course with a lot of learning material to cover.



Looking back we covered all the essentials needed to get a basic knowledge of all the disciplines involved in close protection and quite well indeed.



We had different instructors during the course, but the main instructor

was Robert McEwan of Horizon ltd.



Mr. McEwan is a laid back guy with a lot of field experience in close protection, risk management and operations in hostile environments.



His previous time in the Scottish Infantry, the security industry and subsequently instructor was a huge benefit throughout the course.



The course was split into theory, practice and physical training, all well adjusted. We started out simple and went into more advanced training and everyday many new learning points was added to the curve.



Overall an excellent course which provided me with a solid foundation to build upon.

I recently attended an FPOS I and MIRA course bundle. Not only was the course bundle excellent value for money, but the quality of training provided from Rab McEwan (FPOS I) and Tom Johnston (FPOS I and MIRA) was incredibly in depth and went above and beyond the level of knowledge required in order to ensure all students fully understood the physiology behind treatment methods. This isn’t your average 9am-5pm course with the odd early finish on some days, every day is crammed with theory lessons and in depth hands on practical lessons and assessments. I’m looking forward going back to complete my FREC courses next!

I kind of went into this course believeing it to be just another course, how wrong was I!!!!

From the offset your constantly bombarded with vital information, you then go into the hostile phase which was hard work but as close as you can get to the real thing, after the hostile you begin the executive phase. Whilst all this is going on you have Physical Training most mornings.



The accommodation:

It's perfect single rooms kitchen areas gym everything you need to live comfortable.



Summary:

If you want to go on a course that you can just hide at the back and get a pass, Dont waste your money, this course will test you both mentally and physically. Your trained by experts within the curcuit they know what is required from teams and they know how to get the best out of you.

I would highly recommend anyone to complete the course. I'm proud to place them on my CV and feel like I have made a great acheivment by completeing the course

Just finished the CP FPOS FREC MIRA courses they exceeded my expectations the CP course was really intense it pushed me past my limits helped me to work under imense stress and pressure and really gives you a taste of what to expect in the real world their instructors we amazing passing on their experiences and knowledge in the field to me. The medical courses were something else the instructors we very passionate about the subject and with their wealth of experience passed that to me on the course and I really enjoyed all three courses and learned alot thanks to Horizon and their amazing team. I've successfully completed CP &FPOS for my employer as I'm already engaged in a RST contract, it's where to come to further or start your security ambitions.

My only negative feedback is perhaps the ongoing renovations whilst using the small kitchen with a large course. That said, if your a busy company your limited to when you can achieve things like this.

It's pertinent, realistic and professionally run.

I recently participated in the close protection and FPOS first aid course provided by Horizon ltd and Guardian-srm.



It was a both comprehensive and compressed course with a lot of learning material to cover.



Looking back we covered all the essentials needed to get a basic knowledge of all the disciplines involved in close protection and quite well indeed.



We had different instructors during the course, but the main instructor

was Robert McEwan of Horizon ltd.



Mr. McEwan is a laid back guy with a lot of field experience in close protection, risk management and operations in hostile environments.



His previous time in the Scottish Infantry, the security industry and subsequently instructor was a huge benefit throughout the course.



The course was split into theory, practice and physical training, all well adjusted. We started out simple and went into more advanced training and everyday many new learning points was added to the curve.



Overall an excellent course which provided me with a solid foundation to build upon.

I recently attended an FPOS I and MIRA course bundle. Not only was the course bundle excellent value for money, but the quality of training provided from Rab McEwan (FPOS I) and Tom Johnston (FPOS I and MIRA) was incredibly in depth and went above and beyond the level of knowledge required in order to ensure all students fully understood the physiology behind treatment methods. This isn’t your average 9am-5pm course with the odd early finish on some days, every day is crammed with theory lessons and in depth hands on practical lessons and assessments. I’m looking forward going back to complete my FREC courses next!

I kind of went into this course believeing it to be just another course, how wrong was I!!!!

From the offset your constantly bombarded with vital information, you then go into the hostile phase which was hard work but as close as you can get to the real thing, after the hostile you begin the executive phase. Whilst all this is going on you have Physical Training most mornings.



The accommodation:

It's perfect single rooms kitchen areas gym everything you need to live comfortable.



Summary:

If you want to go on a course that you can just hide at the back and get a pass, Dont waste your money, this course will test you both mentally and physically. Your trained by experts within the curcuit they know what is required from teams and they know how to get the best out of you.

I would highly recommend anyone to complete the course. I'm proud to place them on my CV and feel like I have made a great acheivment by completeing the course
