Fish & Chip night TONIGHT

What a lovely place to call in and eat! Staff very welcoming, food very filling! Atmosphere was nice too, filled up very quickly and everyone seemed happy, will definitely call in again and will leave room for a pudding � next time ...

What a delicious lunch! Sea bass, mussels, prawn with tasty sauce. New potatoes mmm. Hubby and sister both had Sunday roasts which they both really enjoyed. All meals were piping hot too! Staff were great. Friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Also noticed how kind they were to customers who needed perhaps a little more assistance. Definitely will return.

We went here on Saturday for my sons 21st birthday meal. There was a party of 20 of us. The service was excellent, and the food was brilliant. The staff were

So nice, helpful and really friendly they couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be going back there again.

We visited here on Saturday 26th August for our ruby wedding anniversary and 3 birthdays which one was a 60th there were 10 of us altogether on arrival we was shown to our table throughout the meal staff was friendly and helpful they got us extra drinks when we needed them nothing was too much trouble meal was lovely a lovely evening enjoyed by all would definitely recommend

Visited last night with friends and was pleasantly surprised. Fish dishes were beautiful - fresh and well presented. Staff and owner were very welcoming and genuinely interested as to whether we were happy. Will be returning very soon!

Visited early evening on a Saturday, came as the playground had had a bit of a revamp. When I saw the menu I wasn't really blown away, but it was getting late for the kids to eat, so stuck with it.

So pleased we did....food (steak, lasagne & two kids meals - nuggets and sausages) were great!! The steak was cooked as requested, my lasagne was amazing, home made and best ever tasted in a pub, large portions all round too...chicken nuggets are homemade as well. Not a brake brothers meal in sight �� all of the staff were really friendly, meals were prompt and service was excellent, great value for money.

Only downside to the layout is not great access to the playground from the pub itself. Will definitely be back again ����

Visited after a game of golf today and the home made pies we had were delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Changed my mind a few times when ordering which wasn't a problem for them at all. Would recommend to anybody.

Tasted the Vegan menu for the 2nd time gorgeous. They even adapted it for me so that it was gluten free as well as Vegan. Very nice good quality food. Staff very friendly. We will be definitely returning. Xx

Our first visit. Park was great for kids, one of the best I've been to in regards to the facilities. Our food was great, lovely homemade meals. We will be back!

Lived in Lichfield for years and I am ashamed it was the first time visiting the horse and jockey. Fantastic food both for the adults and kids. A good choice of dishes and puddings. Kids loved the play area. Will definitely be stopping by again!

Food was very tasty, large portions, good value for money. Friendly staff. This visit was a spur of the moment stop for tea but I would definitely make a special trip there to eat in future.

Advert outside states extensive vegan and vegetarian menu ... and they are not wrong! Lovely vegan food, very surprised at the vegan menu - choice of 3 vegan starters, 3 vegan mains and 4 vegan desserts!! Soya milk for hot drinks and vegan chocolates! Brilliant. Friendly and helpful service too. Thank you.

Visited the horse & jockey to sample their vegan menu. Opted for the vegan lasagne with salad from the excellent vegan menu. There was a bit of confusion with the dishes and I was served a vegetarian lasagne by mistake. This was soon rectified by the staff. On the whole I was impressed with the quality of the menu and the service so I will be visiting again. Thank you.

I had heard good things about the food here and it was my hubbys birthday so we decided to give it a try

we found the food very good and cook to our liking there was a good choice of starters and mains but the dessert list could do with a little bit more variation but the staff were very friendly and really helpful and we would recommend this place to our friends and family x

The food was very good just very short on the portion ie one half of a roast and a few vedge and I'm not a big eater but a few more spuds would have sorted it don't normally do puddings but we had to.

Visited here a few times before and always been really impressed with the home cooked food but today ordered a kids meal for my children and was really disappointed £5.95 for a frankfurter in a hard roll and about 10 chips! Also pub and outside area looks really run down - such a shame! Won’t be returning : (
