Huntly Castle Caravan Park

Great run site clean and tidy

One of our favorite castles to visit. Loved imagining how it was when occupied by families.

Very good camp site. Large pitches, Adult only camping area, good dog walks, loads of hot water & good sized shower cubicles.
Only complaints:
TV & Mobile Phone reception very poor & lack of dog poo bins.

Quiet, very clean and lots of dog walks in the area. Only a few minutes walk from Huntly Castle along the river. It is also home to thousands of rabbits! Facilities are very nice and there's a lovely open feel to the campsite. Pitches are generous in size and well spaced. Lots of play areas for children.

Having read very positive reviews about the site we were very disappointed. Beautifully clean and well maintained by the wardens. However, there was one family sized shower and two other showers in the block beside our pitch. Only one privacy cubicle. The temperature of the showers is not adjustable. The first two nights they were nice and hot. The next two nights they were barely lukewarm. My impression is that when the families left and the site became less busy that cost cutting came into play by reducing the water temp. The warden informed us that new privacy cubicles have been installed in one of the other blocks but sadly we weren't given that info until we were leaving. Very nice wardens but I thought the lady was quite uncomfortable when asked about the water temp being reduced. Electricity is also set very low and we had to limit the number of items used at any one time. Another caravanner said the settings were 10amp for the couples area and 18 amp for the family area. Clearly I cannot confirm this. Lovely area but we won't be back to this particular site..
