Went for my first float last night was a bit apprehensive as not sure if it would be for me (was given the 3 for £99 package as a gift for my birthday) but was put at ease after it was all explained so I knew exactly what was happening the float experience was amazing a bit strange for the first 10 mins but once I told myself to relax it was truly a fantastic experience the hour seemed to pass so quickly think I may have nodded of I felt so relaxed and chilled out afterwards and slept so well can't wait for my next float thanks to all the staff what a great addition to porty xx

Well all I can say is wow! My midwife said i needrd something to try and help me relax and I had been struggling with work and my 4 year old to find something that gave me some me time. I am 32 weeks pregnant and it's been a hell of a time, in and out hospital. I came across shimmer on Facebook when it was first openning. I have just returned from a truly amazing experience. From the minute I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome and at complete ease. The room the pod is in is beautifully decorated and really calming. The pod itself just let me float away into my own little world both physically and mentally. I was given a noodle float which meant I could float on my front or back. I preferred back but everyone will find there own way. Music is played when you first get in and then this is turned off for complete relaxation. It is then put back on at the end so you know when to get out. I then had a lovely shower and was given fruit tea on my exit. Every fine detail is thought of from ear plugs to hair straighteners! If you are considering this and aren't sure please give it a go you won't be disappointed. Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable and will answer any questions you might have!

Just spent an hour floating! Cannot recommend this place enough. If you need to relax or have any muscular issues this is the treatment for you. I honestly didn't think I would last an hour but I did, totally switched off from the world and now feel revitalised. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Just spent an amazing hour having my first float and would definitely recommend it to anyone, it was lovely and so relaxing. Fantastic place, lovely and clean and the staff are really welcoming!

Shimmer is a beautiful place and the facilities are spotless with all needs catered for.

I would highly recommend it for anyone - it's the most relaxing way to spend an hour and the staff are fantastic, making you feel so welcome & comfortable.

I suffer with back problems as I have slipped discs, and was looking for a way to relax without getting a back massage as this can make my back worse. I had heard about the floatation tanks and saw this on Groupon, so I decided to give it a go. I was a bit apprehensive prior to going, however as soon as I got in and the lady explained exactly what would happen, I felt at ease. For the first time in weeks, I was pain free while floating and I came out feeling extremely relaxed. I couldn't recommend this enough, and I'll definitely be back!

I had my first trial of the isopod flotation tank and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend it as a fantastic way to really relax. The whole experience from beginning to ends was wonderful and I will certainly do it again.
