Happy Christmas... the girls think its cold.

These were lucky and avoided the rain and the worst of the wind. Later lots weren't so lucky!

Chestnuts on patrol first lot.

Strange things are afoot, headless horsemen and witches oh my!

Another gorgeous drying morning in Ayrshire. Riding out on a Sunday means one thing: racing on Monday! Pictured are Cyprus Avenue and Strong Economy having a beauty session. As lovely as it is to have broodmares and youngstock still out a bit of rain would be nice!

Matching mares having a spin up the gallops after schooling this morning.

User

Its been a hack, schooling, galloping kind of day. 20°c in Scotland in October, amazing!

User

Its a bit colder this evening, good job we had these nice clean rugs on standby for some of the finer coated ones who feel the cold. Most are too woolly to really rug yet, light sheets are plenty, but with increased work it means October can't come soon enough to we start clipping 🙈😱

Jessiemac and Strong Economy unsure about paddling earlier this afternoon. Jenny and Robyn left to ride out while I was at the sales.

User

Biennial and Imperial laughing at their new schooling fence. They weren't laughing at the snapped and swinging telegraph pole.

No storm is keeping King of Fashion from his lunch

Following enquiries in the last week I'm heading to the sales on Wednesday, if anyone is interested in a syndicate horse please contact me.

Flash having his first canter, he was very sensible. Cyprus Avenue and Jessiemac schooled over hurdles and Emma rode out and reminded us how much we missed her!

User

Some of you were asking on Saturday how we get our horses so shiny. This is the wonderful stuff we told you about. Thanks Sean Cooney for sending a resupply. www.botanica.ie

So the 3yo gentleman pictured below is by Supreme Sound - we call him Flash and some of you might have met him at our open day. He was one of Supreme Sound's last crop, do any of you have horses by the same sire? What are they like? We would love to hear from you.

Imperial Prince, Strong Economy and Cyprus Avenue having their first gallop of the season this afternoon.

4yo Josie cantering with the older horses having a faster canter.

Huge thanks to everyone who braved the rain to come and see us on our open day. Your generosity in our raffle raised £535 for Whiteleys Retreat and Racing Welfare. Here are a few photos from the day, more to follow.

User

Open day prep. Big thanks to david mitchell giraphics for polo shirts and jackets, as you can see, the calves, sheep and angie all decided to break free this morning and cause all sorts of chaos.

User

Very good all weather gallops that are usable all year. Always very helpful when I phone up at short notice to use them!

User

Many thanks to Ian and Jenny for allowing us to use their fabulous all weather gallop between events! Wide enough to ride two abreast up a very decent hill and what a view from the top!!! Wish I had taken a photo! x

User
