To help prevent dental problems from happening during this period, here are some top tips for great oral health from our friends at the Oral Health Foundation
1. Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste.
2. The best time to brush is last thing at night, before you go to bed.
... 3. Cut down on how much sugar you have and how often you have it.
4. Keep sugar consumption to mealtimes. This will reduce the time your teeth are under attack.
5. Use interdental brushes or floss to clean in between the teeth.
6. Use mouthwash daily to remove bad bacteria and keep fresh breath.
If you are in pain, bleeding, swelling, or have had an accident and need urgent dental care, please telephone us as we are running an emergency dental advice service with all appointments postponed until further notice.
Out with these hours, please call NHS 24 on 111

Dear patients,
In light of the guidance just received by the Chief Dental Officer (see below) – which we have been waiting for in anticipation – our dental practice are now only operating an emergency dental service.
Please be assured we will have staff available on the telephone and this will be from 1000 – 1300. Our phone call process will identify whether you have an urgent dental need and an assessment will be made and you will be advised of what to do next. As such, pl...ease can any/all patients refrain from physically attending the practice in person.
As soon as any further advice or guidance is provided, we will of course keep you informed of any changes and hope to give you some clarity on when normal services can resume.
We ask and thank you for your patience. Your understanding and compassion for our team who have been nothing short of excellent has been greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, what a day, important that we communicate a wee message to keep you all updated as we go on.
In light of the most recent advice (see below), our team would like to extend the sincerest thank you to all the patients who were totally understanding with what we're having to do at the dental practice. Your genuine compassion along with your kind, motivating words go such a long way and mean so much. Thank you.
We understand these are worrisome and difficult times,... and we kindly ask that you maintain your patience, trust, and understanding with us. These circumstances are regrettable, but the number one priority for our absolutely fantastic and dedicated staff is to keep our community safe and well.
As we all navigate these waters, we'd also like to offer a message of hope. Together, our team's commitment will always be to work together with each other, with patients, for you, your family, and our town. As and when things develop, please be assured that we will relay all and any developments always keeping you in the loop.
Lastly, in difficult and uncertain times, one thing will always remain a constant: how much we all look out for and take care of one another. Long may that continue - we know it will. We salute each and every one of you are doing things big or small across the town to help to provide to the elderly, most vulnerable, and now with school closures. Proud to be in this with you!

***IMPORTANT COVID-19 Update (18.03.20)
Our dental practice are strictly adhering and maintaining up to date implementation of all Government and Health Body advice/guidelines. We have been waiting for our mandate and the following precautionary measures set out by the Chief Dental Officer are ones that we are in agreement with. Please take comfort in knowing that:
* We will be reducing close personal contact with those most vulnerable (over 70s, those with underlying health ...conditions, and those that are pregnant).
*We have been advised to continue carrying out routine dental check-ups, hand scales, denture work.
*We will be removing the usage of any dental equipment that produces any aerosol and thus we will not be providing fillings, root treatments, crowns and bridge. In the event of a dental emergency, these treatments may still go ahead.
*Please expect a call from our team prior to your visit. During this pre-appointment call we will be finding out how well you are keeping. If we haven’t been able to reach you on the phone, please follow the guidance set out on the entrance as you arrive.
We thank you for the patience and understanding during a challenging time. However, we must act collectively, efficiently, and affirmatively and we extend our help and support to whomever needs it. Be it medical, other dental, or any teams in any businesses, we must now more than ever take the opportunity to sincerely thank you for the many efforts that are going on in earnest during this unprecedented time.
To our absolutely wonderful group of dentists, nurses, and receptionists - we appreciate your constant dedication in providing our patients with treatment of the highest quality to excellent hygiene standards.
Finally, if you, or someone you are in close contact with, have developed a high temperature (this means if you feel hot to touch on your chest or back) OR a new, continuous cough (this means you've started coughing repeatedly) – please stay at home as per the current guidelines: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus -covid-19/
