Reviews
So interesting, we have to make sure that everytime we visit our family in the area that we take time to visit.
What a gem! We were so excited to find it and then to look through the registers and find that an ancestor, James McRobbie of Crieff, had borrowed books from the library. One was borrowed in 1752 and the librarian was able to show us that same book, printed in 1631. We later found out that James was married in the Innerpeffray Chapel.
Amazing and incredibly timely as a historic example of a lending library in respect to the new shareconomy.
Extraordinary time exploring the historic library and archive - what an adventure in history. We were regaled with numerous stories by the Librarian and Keeper of Books, and enjoyed opportunities to handle some of the oldest materials in the collection. Here you can turn the pages of the King James pulpit bible from the year it was sent to all the churches in Scotland. Here you can view the earliest cottage garden advice books. Here your library-loving heart will find a resting place.
Hours and days are limited so check carefully - you won't want to miss this!
