It’s a sad but happy day for the IHS Social Subjects and RMPS department as Mrs Wallace leaves us to take up her new post at Glenrothes High and Miss Rowley leaves us to go on maternity leave 😢 Mrs Wallace has been a fantastic teacher here for 5 years and will be missed by staff and pupils alike. We wish you well in your new school 👩🏻🏫 We wish Miss Rowley and her new baby well and whilst we will miss her lots we look forward to her return next year. Thank you both for all your hard work, it won’t be the same without you ❤️
Well done Amy Lancaster
It was belonging day at IHS today for visiting P7 pupils who are coming into S1 in August. Mrs Renfrew and Mrs Smith were providing pupils with skills to be mindful whilst Miss Dempster took part in cross-curricular teaching with Mrs Mac in Art to celebrate diversity ✨ https://t.co/95SnI32Afw
Hard to believe it was a week ago that we left on our Belgium adventure. We hope everyone had a fantastic time and thank all our pupils for their excellent behaviour for the duration of the trip. Thanks also to all the staff who took time out to accompany us and our two bus drivers Stevie and Ritchie for us taking there and back safely!
A scorching Sunday spent exploring in Bruges. Pupils had time to unwind with some shopping and a ride on the canal boats! Beautiful views all round.
On Saturday night IHS watched the Menin Gate ceremony which is held every night at 8pm. Later we held our own service where pupils from both coaches laid wreaths with special messages of remembrance to mark the sacrifice of those who fought in WW1. We are extremely proud of the conduct and the respect shown by everyone during the ceremony.
Day 3 in Belgium. Pupils visited a number of cemeteries and sites of remembrance including Essex Farm and Polkapelle where two of the youngest casualties aged 14 and 15 of the war are buried. Then Tynecot, the largest Commonwealth cemetery which holds over 12,000 graves. And in contrast we visited a German miltary cemetery where over 44,000 men were buried. Pupils also spent some time exploring Ypres with an obligatory visit to the chocolate shops!
A busy day 2 spent in France learning about the Battle of the Somme. We visited Vimy Ridge spending some time underground in WW1 tunnels followed by the battlefields at Beaumont Hamel and then onto the Thiepval memorial where 72,000 names of the missing of the Somme are listed on its walls.
Some highlights from a great first day in Belgium with visits to Messines, the Pool of Peace, Hill 60 and Sanctaury Wood where pupils experienced being in real WW1 trenches.

The Social Subjects and RME Pupil’s of the Month *or superstars* 🌟 Well done to all of you who have proven to be outstanding during the month of April.
S1 pupils have been working incredibly hard to achieve their John Muir award in the Great Outdoors unit 🍁 We are super proud of the ‘ready, respectful and responsible’ learning we have witnessed outdoors so far and the effort that has gone into some of the homework produced. Keep up the hard work! 🙌🏻
Very proud of all the Senior pupils who have been inspired and influenced by their time in Social Subjects and RMPS during their time at Inverkeithing High and has allowed them to get them to where they want to be next year, whether it be university, college or into a job 🌟 #DYSW #growbychoice
S3 Geography at Cairnie Fruit Farm!
Some last day highlights from Berlin. We have had a great time being part of another very successful Modern Languages and History trip and thank all of our pupils for their exceptional behaviour and enthusiasm each day.
Highlights from a fantastic day 3 in Berlin. Full of history, culture and sport.
Highlights from day 2 in Berlin and we saw some sunshine!
