Five club members descended on a rather dreich Mull last weekend for the August camping meet. The campsite at Fidden Farm was a bit of a drive away from the hills, but it's beautiful location by the beach and opposite Iona was fair compensation - when you could see it ;) All 5 members summited Ben More, albeit on different days, one member had a bash at the Corbett Dun da Ghaoithe and three grabbed the opportunity to visit Iona. A great weekend, despite the weather.

Seven club members, one potential member and four dogs enjoyed a great day out on Sgurr a Mhaoraich on Saturday. Despite a less than promising weather forecast we were not particularly troubled by clag, though we could see it sitting on the South Glen Shiel ridge to our north. It very obligingly moved off our summit to allow us views while we lunched and then, briefly, escorted us back down the hill. We then headed off to the Invergarry Hotel to complete the day with coffee and scones.

Hi all. Dan Dry is on the hunt for some climbing partners:
Based in Inverness for the next 5 weeks and keen to get out in the evenings & weekends. Climbing up to e1 but keen to get out anything. Don't know the area that well so tour guides/advice on some of the local classics would be very welcome! Feel free to send me a message if you're keen! Thanks

The Harris meet was a tremendous success, with a total of 10 members making it to the island by various means and routes; two of whom organised their own accommodation. Various hills and low-level walks were undertaken over the three days we spent in Harris. The final day saw one group head to the Eagle's nest bothy and another head for the standing stones at Callanish, Lewis, before getting the ferry back to Ullapool. For more meet reports, forthcoming meet venues and dates, and information about the club, please visit our website: https://invernessmountaineering.club/

The Inverness Mountaineering Club is holding the Annual Dinner & Dance at the Nethybridge Hotel. There will be a 3 course meal with tea and coffee at the end.
The ceilidh band for our dinner/dance are this time the Dunnottar Ceilidh Band, who we got through Feis Rois from Dingwall. They are a young vibrant band and will deliver some great music. All dances will be called, so we will have a wee dry run for each dance before we get into the swing of it.
Card payment will have a... small surcharge. We only charge what the club is getting charged by the card payment providers. Bank transfer and cheque payments have no surcharges.
We hope you can join us!

This is the second Thursday of the month, so it's your chance to come and meet some of your fellow members at the Phoenix bar in Academy Street.
Folk start turning up around 9pm, and by 9.30 most have arrived. You get your drink in the front bar, and if there's not enough room to sit - or it's too noisy - we can go through to the back bar where there is a seating area at the back which is not used for meals. Please avoid the tables which are set out for meals! [You can ask ...for Ewen as he's good at attending].
If you don't fancy the pub but want to know about day walking meets and weekend meets in the coming months please check out the website:
