Invershin Hotel Bunkhouse & Bar

TL;DR - Look no further for accommodations; book your stay at the Invershin Hotel.

Cheryl and Angus (and their two beautiful children) waved goodbye from the front door as we left. You won't get that kind of service from a hotel chain!

The room and bathroom were absolutely spotless (and spacious) and we had the most gorgeous view of Invershin castle. The bed was very comfortable and the small touches (bottled water, tea, and biscuits) made us feel very welcome.

The food was amazing; the menu isn't long, but we actually had a hard time choosing which entree we wanted more! Breakfast was my favorite; they served a full Scottish breakfast (complete with the best blood pudding I've ever had) and a piping hot pot of earl gray. We also had our choice of breakfast cereals and enjoyed toast with homemade apricot jam.

In the evenings, the small pub downstairs (with a VERY well stocked bar) served as a gathering place for travelers and locals alike. We enjoyed a few hours sitting together, meeting other people, and sipping tasty beverages.

The best part of all of it, though, was the hospitality. I've never met people as warm and friendly and accommodating as Cheryl and Angus - they are truly the salt of the earth. They take hospitality to a whole new level. I can't say enough good things about them - but please go visit and meet them yourselves!

My husband and I plan on returning for a visit and will absolutely stay at the Invershin Hotel again. If you're visiting the area, book your stay here! You won't regret it!

Went here for drinks, friendly staff and a nice cozy bar with local ales and of course, Tennants. Worth a visit if passing through.

Great place, stayed in the bunkhouse, was great for the price, they do evening meals and breakfast and has a well stocked bar with fireplace. The owners are lovely and really friendly

Great night's sleep, really worth the price. Had a nice dinner in the bar and the host was really really friendly. Would recommend.

We cycled lands End to John o Groats and stayed in 21 different hotels and guest houses. This was our favourite. It is welcoming, friendly, comfortable and interesting. The short menu was all home cooked with some terrific vegetarian food. It has a lovely style - simple but classy. Don't be fooled by the old Google photos which are not representative of the current establishment. We're planning a return trip ( and it's a good two days drive from home).

After a long, rainy day of cycling 50 miles, we arrived here soaked and dejected - but the warm atmosphere and beautiful double room we were led to immediately lifted our spirits. This small, refurbished lodge-like hotel is run by a family, and their little touches make this place special -- like the classic folk music played in the beautiful little bar, the fine whiskies on offer and the welcoming attitudes. Would highly recommend to all passing through this remote yet lovely area.

We were travelling in a group as bikers exploring the NC500 and wanted a good location to stay. We got in touch with the Invershin Hotel & Bunkhouse and they had availability. We were made very welcome by the young family owners. The place is in a good location and has plenty space for parking, we got food that was a good portion and of good quality. There is a small bar on site too that has live music on some nights, the locals were friendly and made us as a group welcome.
